Re: magnaflow or flowmaster?

I am running a magnaflow....I think they flow a little better than the flowmasters but flowmasters are louder. The magnaflow is stainless and will last forever too! Just my opinion. Here are some pics of my Magnaflow with the magnaflow tips......It looks pretty good also! Are you running it out the back like this??

Re: magnaflow or flowmaster?

I had a similar post the other day. And it comes down to what you want. And of course the flowmaster haters will be all over this thread. But you want a better flowing/performance exhaust thats magnaflow. The louder exhaust, is going to be flowmaster. It comes down to what you want. IMO from what i've seen, neither are a huge differnece in power adding.

right now the headers come down to a Y an then goes to a single 3 1/4 inch pipe out the passenger side.. but thats the similiar setup id want to do!! nice car by the way! i honestly think there both great but just cant seem to decide. Cause my buddy has a magnaflow still brand new an said he would give it to me for free, cause he has no use for it. But then again id like a flowmaster...Guess ill just have to think this one out

Yea i've decided to go with flowmaster. I want that more aggressive and louder sound. Since i only got a 305 im not worried by the small upgrade or better flowing from the magnaflow, maybe in the future i'll switch when i swap my 350 in.

i just dont like thouse tips, i prefer them to be hidden, or interated to the body, but thats just me.... personally i have flowmaster but i prefer magnaflow, flowmaster has a very deep tone and loud, but since i only have a 305 i would prefer magnaflow since they sound more tame, and i dont want to sound like ( white grain that is used in sushi) lol

I've got Magnaflow muffler, dont get me wrong, but I do love the Loader sound of the flowmaster mufflers!

Re: magnaflow or flowmaster?

if youre a kid, you want flowmaster, if youre older you probably will appreciate the sound of a magnaflow more.

edit: basically flowmasters are loud, and magnaflow is made to sound nice and not too loud at the same time

Actually a kid would most likely go for straight pipes. Easier, costs less, and superior loud. =). Preference not age.

Re: magnaflow or flowmaster?

I'm a kid and I like magnaflows better. I hate all the mustangs at my high school with flowmasters. They're not fast and they're loud as hell at low RPMS... Then again they are stangs they might be redlining it to catch our cars. Hahaha. But Magnaflows definitely sound better. I want to know when my engine is revving hard and sound refined but powerful, not just loud as hell for no reason.

Re: magnaflow or flowmaster?

I have a Flowmaster American Thunder cat back (80 series muffler) 3 in. pipe with a Magnaflow high flow cat and I get compliments all the time. I like it allot. Hears a link to a page of all Flowmasters mufflers and it also shows the internal components. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...atAOJi8D1Awand And here's a video link to a 80 Flowmaster http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...deoID=23636387 and here's one to a Magnaflow http://www.metacafe.com/watch/yt-wi4...ow_exhaust/and here's one to a Powerstick http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TkhsB3TGio&NR=1 and here's one to a Spintech http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w...ew_Exhaust.swf Heres Borla http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLfLbFlG2dQ Enjoy. By the way I did not like the Flowmaster 80 series muffler tips sticking out from the rear of my car so i cut them back about 3in. and they tuck in nicely now.
