Re: SLP Loudmouth! help plz

LM1 is just a resonator. Its 3" straight through with no muffling basically. Almost like a bullet muffler from dynomax but nothing really in it. Its very very loud and has a raspy tone to it from what I've heard.

The LM2 is a bullet type muffler that has a 2.5" core. Its got a perforated tube thats glass wrapped. You can get it in a 2.5" inlet or 3" inlet but it has the same 2.5" core.

I have this system on my 99 trans am with longtubes/cats/minor bolt ons and at idle its no louder than stock but driving around it has some good volume but its nice sounding. At WOT it gets pretty loud but sounds mean. I think all LS1 cars sound pretty good with full exhaust tho but I love hammering down on that car, it just has a great tone to it. WIthout cats it will be much much louder. Cammed cars will have much more aggressive tone and be louder still.

I love the muffler I just wish it was 3" true core. Its rather pricey for the design tho. Its a 99 dollar polished bullet basically. You can get a regular bullet for 45 bucks but the LM2 should be slightly quieter than the bullet. Its actually in-between a dynomax ultraflo type round muffler and the bullet. I think the LM2 has nicer tone than LM1

I bought 2 LM2 mufflers to put on my twin turbo Iroc, but decided the 2.5" core was going to be a restriction and I went with bullets instead.

EDIT: realized you are in SE houston, i'm on the western side but east of katy

Re: SLP Loudmouth! help plz

im a fan of a better sounding car rather than one that is loud as , so i would not go with a moud mouth at all, i would do a borla xr-1 or a chambered exhaust, but if you want loud and kinda raspy a loud mouth is the way to go. here is a thread cpmparing lm1 vs lm2 on tech

Re: SLP Loudmouth! help plz

the "loud mouth" is a single exhaust set-up i think? are you talking about running duals side by side in the stock location with a lm1 or lm2 bullet in each pipe?

Re: SLP Loudmouth! help plz

I have LM2 catback system on my TA. You can buy the resonators for LM1 or the bullets for LM2 seperately but if you go that direction I wouldnt pay for the LM2's as its just a polished version of a bullet. I"d just get dynomax bullets for duals or some chambered tubes. That will give you some volume and some tone. I think they sound better than LM1. LM2's will sound good but i think they are slightly overpriced for what you get.

I havent driven my camaro yet but i just put on true dual 3" system with bullets and it sounds really good free reving so far. I cant wait to hear it again on the streets. Need to wait a few months for that tho.
