I have an 1988 camaro with a 305 TBI. It says they only go up to an 81. Will they still fit on my car because they look like they would.

I bought the second ones I posted, cant wait to install them. But their painted is there anything I could put on it to provide heat protection for them?

If they're anything like the Hedman long tubes, they come in some sort of non heat treated paint. There was a slip in the box that told us that the paint would burn off after a few minutes of use. My friend and I had to strip ours down to bare metal and re paint them. Not really sure if it applies to yours, just my input.
