Exhaust Nightmare!!!!!
well i have a 1988 camaro sport coupe 5.0 with 305. well i recently called summit racing and went ahead and bought the hooker 2460hkr comp. headers with 3" collector also ordered the 16767hkr y pipe that goes with it but later when shipment came in realised that the y pipes inlet diam. was 3" and the oulet diam. was 2.5". i even called holley to see if they made a 3" y pipe and they said no i really want a 3" exhaust. my question should i get rid of the y pipe i already have and get a custom 3" one made? or should i just go with a complete different setup?

Re: Exhaust Nightmare!!!!!
Just true dual it 3in from header back. With whatever muffler and tips you want. Or I'm sure you can get a 3in y pipe from somwhere.

Re: Exhaust Nightmare!!!!!
just make or buy a 3 inch y. a local muffler shop should be able to make one. I made my own 3 inch to 3.5 inch y....was relatively easy

Re: Exhaust Nightmare!!!!!
Use the Hooker #16767 y-pipe, just cut the 2.5" merge end off and have a shop/welder replace it with a 3"pipe where they merge. Thats what I did.
