Stock Manifold Mating Surface Cleanup
A previous owner used cheap manifold gaskets that eventually led to one of them blowing out. I pulled the manifold and its not warped when I line it up to a straight edge. The problem is that there is baked gasket material on the mating surface of the manifold.
Does anybody think going at it with a wire brush is sufficient or should I take it to a machine shop and have it decked so I know its clean and straight?
Thanks

You can pick em up at pretty much any parts store in the abrasives aisle. Die grinder is like $20 - 25. DG is one of my most-used tools Wizz wheel is probably what I use the most on it, but those 2 things plus a 1" sanding drum, plus cartridge rolls, plus a buffing wheel and some rouge, will cover AN AMAZING amount of applications.

I've had good luck with products like this. Softens up the old material for easier removal.
