Dyno don headers.

Dyno don headers.
I ordered a set of headers from don. They're awesome! I had a set of Edelbrock TES headers that were 1 5/8. Dons have more clearance everywhere and they're 1 3/4. They went on super easy and are an awesome product. I know this has been discussed a million times. I just felt it was appropriate to give credit to a well designed hand made product.
for what it's worth I have an 82 ta w a zz430 clone and a pro flo XT and a manual trans. There was even room for the mechanical clutch linkage.

About 4.5 months. It was worth the wait. Don kept me informed of the delays he was hitting and was really cool about letting me know where he was at w them.

Looks like he’s done a little updating since I got mine. He used to just put a little tack bead between the the tubes where the y-pipe runs parallel before merging. Now he has a strap but it still only has 4 little tacks holding it in place. If you ever hear a maddening metallic rattle from the passenger side that’s your source. It won’t be obvious just eyeballing it. Super easy fix, just weld it back together. With all the heat cycling it’s bound to crack the welds. Mine took several years to happen.

Yeah, I'm really psyched w them. I wish I got these years ago. The bolts he recommends had great clearance also. I had to grind 2-3mm on one washer. That was the only issue. I reused my aluminum d port gaskets and they seemed to sealed up well again.

I am currently running 2 sets of Dyno Dons and an old set of SLP headers. The SLP’s are the best there was and the Dyno Dons are the best there is now. Recently sold my car that I was running a set of Edelbrock TES headers (had the cat back too). I would rate the Edelbrocks as 2nd place to SLP from what was available back in the day. The Dyno Dons are really awesome headers. Well made and a great fit.

It sounded good w the Edelbrock stuff. I needed more flow. The old stuff is all for sale. The headers I had ceramic coated. It's all in good shape w no leaks I bought it all new in 2002(ish)

I had two of the early systems and one of the later systems (still have the later one installed on a car). I think i preferred the early system.

I have only heard the RPM, I saw the SDT in Summit and Jegs but never heard any. I had an RPM on my Dad's '93 S10 with the 4.3, it made it almost sound like a little V8, it sounded great!

Re: Dyno don headers.
I ended up removing the muffler and putting on a spintech w dual 3 inch outs. I felt the Edelbrock was a little too mellow. I've had spintechs an a few other vehicles and been happy w the performance/sound and durability.
