86 Aero Spoiler. NICE shape!!!

Hey everyone. Just putting a feeler out there.

I have an aftermarket fiberglass spoiler for my 86. I started sanding it down and getting it ready for paint yesterday. There is nothing wrong with my stock unpainted spoiler...but I want to get it off of there before it starts to get messed up. 1) because the fiberglass is lighter...and I want to color match it when I re-paint my car. 2) ide MUCH rather someone that garage keeps their car have this spoiler as it will last MUCH longer. My car sits out in the weather...and Ide rather get it off of there before it gets messed up.

Im not even sure how much to ask for it... And its still on the car.

I plan to paint the new one this weekend since its supposed to be like 80 degrees and sunny. So it'll be available after this weekend.

Ill take pictures of it in more detail so you can see it has tears or funky things going on with it.

Again..this is the textured, unpainted spoiler availabe on 86 Trans AMs.

Lets start at $100 o.b.o.?

Anyone interested in this? Like I said, Ill get some pictures of it ASAP.

Thanks!

Justin

Re: 86 Aero Spoiler. NICE shape!!!

Hi Justin, I am interested in the rear wrap-around w/matte surface which is OEM black in color, as you already know, only the smooth ones were color-matched to the body color. I will gladly TAKE IT for $100 after seeing the pictures you plan to post, or you can email them directly to c28sr71007@yahoo.com? Will you ship it, where are you located in Pency? Thanks, Firehawk95

Cool man. Ill post the pictures once its off, or before I remove it. Youre first in line after you see the pictures.

The spoiler is located near Coatesville PA. The ZIP is 19376. I live in Norristown, 19401. So I could bring the spoiler there.

As for shipping, Ill have to look into that. Im not sure how much it'll cost, but it'll most likely be an oversized type shipment. Ide also be nervous about handling and it getting messed up.

But Ill look into it.

Where are you located?

J.

Re: 86 Aero Spoiler. NICE shape!!!

Ok guys. Got the spoiler off.

Like the title says...nice shape. Its not perfect. However...I think its definatly nice enough even for a show car.

Of course, most if not all of the clips broke. This spoiler has NEVER been off the car. Its been in the garage all its life until I got it. There was no rust, or buildup, or corrosion under the spoiler mounting pads. Its pretty clean.

A few little scratches or something in it on the one side. But I almost think you can fill those in with a little paint or something..something that'll dry and stay flexible and resist sun. They arent bad....I took pictures next to my pointer finger for scale.

This thing is heavy..and akward. Im not sure if I want to go through the shipping process. Im not even sure if it'll fit in my Jeep without too much hassle.

Here are the pics, let me know! Something tells me I could get more than $100 for this thing...but I already said 100...and I just want it to go to someone that can use it instead of going to waste. Not too many of these left in this condition.

J.

PLEASE dont do anything with it until I've exhausted all possible ways of getting it from you? I sincerely appreciate your UNDERSTANDING in this matter.... If I have to, I will also gladly pay for your gas & time to get it to your local UPS store? Thanks, Firehawk95 P.S. I can send payment out to you immediately....

Hey Jared, I already bought the spoiler from Ghettocruiser and will be picking it up in person from him next week, due to the excessive shipping cost related to its size.... Firehawk95

Re: 86 Aero Spoiler. NICE shape!!!

Crap... I COMPLETELY blanked and didnt update this post! Sorry about that fellas.

Yes, firehawk is picking the spoiler up from me next week. We went round and round trying to ship this thing. I dont know how Hawk's gets away with shipping the fiberglass spoilers so cheap. I guess they arent as fragile as the originals, because I didnt want to just put it in a box and let it ship. I know UPS or FedEX would have screwed it up somehow. Yes I could get insurance, but if its damaged, there's a nice original down the tubes.

So we tried crating it and putting it on skids and truck freight etc etc. Bottom line, the size, and the weight + the weight of the crate made shipping very expensive.

Thanks again!

Justin
