th350/400 hurst ratchet shifter on a 700r4?
what would be the down side?
It has normal shifter functions and a gate you push down into for the ratchet setting it's in good shape and I got it for like 8 bucks at the junkyard I just think it looks better then the stock one. I didnt realize it was not from a 700r4 till I got it home because I got it out of a bernilette camaro.

You wouldn't be able to shift into manual first.

yep what he said, i have the b&m shifter in mine with the 700r4 under it. park, reverse and neutral work fine and it ratchets into all gears except 1st.

im not sure on this specific shifter, but most that will work with an overdrive have a pin that needs to be knocked out in order for it to work properly.
