Ever install windage screen into oil pan?
I am trying to add a Canton universal windage screen to my Moroso #20180 deep sump pan. This is a weld in type assembly, part# 20-906.
http://www.cantonracingproducts.com/...age_trays.html (top pic)
BUT, I have no idea how/where to start!! I know to keep it spaced 1/8" or more from all rotating parts of the bottom end.
Has anyone ever added a screen of this type to a stock oil pan? Tips/tricks??

Weld in? What's to weld? It looks like it probably installs the same way a crank scraper is installed. The oil pan bolts hold it on. Didn't it come with instructions?
I don't use a windage tray. I run a deep sump oil pan and keep the oil level below the baffle. Very little oil gets splashed up onto the crank since the level is kept lower. At high rpm where you're after the extra HP, there isn't a lot of oil inside the pan anyway.
Unless you're racing in a class where you're after every fraction of a HP, I doubt you'll notice any performance difference from using a windage tray or crank scraper.

No it didn't come with any directions and their tech rep was no help...same for the Moroso screen. Not lookig for HP out of it as much as better oil control. Having issues with windage that I would like to cure before I put the pan back on.

i have modified several stock pans with scrapers and screens. you pretty much just go by trial and error method. i used a mock up block to figure out where i needed to place the stuff then added the roating parts to make sure it cleared.

Yeah I now know what you mean. Took me awhile to figure out where to start, but then it went pretty easy. Screen is all done amd I'm about to start screwing the motor back together.
