Anyone with a shiftlight?
Doing my swap, also includes a new cam, so I picked up a 5" autometer white faced tach with shift light.
My car is in pieces right now, but I a feeling this is not going to fit on the dash without obstructing my view lol.
I'm wondering who has one like this and how they mounted it (with pics if you can).
As always, thanks guys!

Re: Anyone with a shiftlight?
i put mine infront of the factory tach, if you dont have tilt steering dont recommend it there but key is also tight
to install just get some black interior screws from crappy tire and plug them into the bottom of the plastic, but i didnt account for the heater for small gauges and they are now lets say they are in a "fixed" location

You can remote mount the actual shift light of that's a concern. I know some people cut out the factory tach and install the aftermarket in that location.

It only gets driven like twice a week & only on nice weather days & "special" occasions. It was her moms car who passed away 7 years ago. So it is very special to her plus it is just too dang nice to be subjected to the rock chips & such of daily driver status.

Mine's not installed yet...
I have a Formula... with the hood bulge on the driver's side... Normally on the TPI formulas, they came closed... but I got a screen off an 82-84 TA, had it chromed and plan to put my red led shift light behind it I need to wrap it up to keep it from cooking / get wet (have jet hot coated headers which keeps the heat down too...

Re: Anyone with a shiftlight?
I don't have a massive tach like those in my car, I just use the regular tach. But I do have a shift light, its a quick lite from auto meter. If you look in the pic you can somewhat see it I have it mounted to the edge of the air vents. I wanted it kinda hidden. If your not looking for it you don't see if unless your actualing driving then it works perfect.
