86 T/A WS6 Hardtop, 355TPI, Buy it before I crush it!

$1500 buys you... One very nice 86 Trans Am. WS6 hardtop. It was a 305 TPI, now its a 355TPI. Engine has less than 3000 miles since complete rebuild. Have the receipts to show engine is new. Transmission is bad. Body is very straight except for the fender I just kicked in, and shotty clear coat problems. It's complete with the 16" WS6 wheels, 4wheel disc brakes, etc. Interior is very clean, would be perfect if the seats were reupholstered.

I've put 4 700R4's in it, there are no good used 700R4's around here, and there aren't any T5's or T56's available, and I am tired of looking at it. So here's the deal, you have till monday to put $1500 cash in my pocket, or I'm going to take the $150 and watch the recycling yard crush it.

First person here with a car dolly or trailer and $1500 cash gets it.

y crush it and get $150 for it, when u could just sell it for less than $1500 to make more money off it, save a decent car, and let someone else enjoy the car and do what they want to do to it?? this is just my opinion, but this is the 3rd post in the cars for sale section that the seller said they would crush it if it wasnt gone by a certain date and im kinda sick of it cuz u cant find 3rd gens in decent shape for cheap round here

Check this out... I've saved 3 cars from the crusher, and they've all been treated much better then they deserved. If someone else wants to mess with them then they should buy them. The price is well below book and far less then what I have invested. To be completely honest I would enjoy seeing it flattened. A little retribution for the skinned knuckles and all the headaches.

It's an awesome car, but I should have left it to rot in the farmers field where I found it. If someone else wants to profit from my efforts then they're going to have to invest a little cash in it. I'm not even going to sell it to a junkyard, I'm seriously going to flatten it. I'm giving all the enthusiasts who scream about not being able to find a deal, the chance to come scoop up one hell of a deal and save a car from certain destruction.

still just amazes me that ud want to crush a car all over some bloody knuckles and hard work....i thought doin work urself on ur car was a passion, and cars were worth all those bloody knuckles and brusies and cuts, and to get some retribution u'd flatten the car?? i dunno, id rather just sell it to someone for less than its worth to make some money and let them enjoy the car rather than just flatten it........to each his own

It's hard to explain... I'll bet it still doesn't sell even though the sale price is lower then the cost of building a 355 from scratch.

More pics please. I doubt you are going to have it crushed with the motor, ACCEL runners and all. I just need an exterior shot or two and interior please.

Check out the last thread where I tried to sell it, https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/cars...-trans-am.html

It's been for sale MANY times. I've been round and round with it, and I wouldn't spend $1200 on the transmission even if I had the money to spend. I'm not going to fix it, and the chances are that no one is going to buy it. I don't see a point in parting it out since then I'd have to sell the parts. I don't want to go through that so I'm selling it for what I have invested in the engine.

Here's the $850 bill for the machine work. Figure in another $150 for the 350 core, $80 for the camshaft, $25 for the double roller timing chain, $100 for the heads, plus assembly... Then the starter is new, waterpump is new, motor mounts are new, transmission mount is new, overflow tank is new, radiator is new, windshield is new, all the locks and keys are new, radio console is new, radio trim plate is new, intermediate pipe is new, washer pump is new, wipers are new, headlights are new, etc etc etc.

I've probably invested close to $3000 in this piece of ****.

It's more like I'm sick and tired of fixing one problem after another. I got it for a steal, $200 and a 84 Fiero. Two days later the 305 blew up. I dropped in a used 350 6-9 months later and two days later it was knocking. After sitting several more months I spent $1500 having it completely rebuilt. Got it back in the car and two days later the radiator blows a tank. At that point I put an ax through the windshield (it was cracked anyway). So after a radiator, and license plates, and windshield, then the transmission goes out. I had extra transmissions, so I swapped in a 700R4 out of a parts car. The torque converter got misaligned and the pump got screwed up. So then I got a transmission from a friend, and it didn't have anything past 1st gear. I had a B&M 700R4 that needed a pump, I took it to the transmission shop to replace it and test it on their dyno. They called back and said they needed to disassemble it a little to check for damage. I ok'd it and the next call they told me it was all apart and needed a $800 rebuild. I got it back in pieces, and there is ZERO wear on any of the parts, only the pump was bad. I'll never go back there again, but there isn't anything I can do about it now. I took $700 and checked out transmissions at all the local salvage yards, after three weeks I'd found nothing. I did come across one GM Goodwrench 4L60 from a 93 Camaro, but the plug was different and no one could tell me how to repin for the 4-pin plug on a 86 T/A. So I saved my money till I had $2000 set aside for a T56 swap. I looked everyday for a month and a half, and anytime I found a good transmission the seller would sell it out from under me after we agreed on a price.

So the bottom line is that I've given the car more then its due, and its time for it to go the hell away. Maybe for someone else it will be worth the $1200 transmission. Had I known that the engine and tranny would both go bad I would have kept my Fiero.
