89 Formula 350 TTop Auto 4 SALE $1450 OBO
1989 T Top Formula 350 TPI Auto Trans for sale $1450 OBO.
I believe I'm the third owner for the car, and as far as I can tell, it was not in any accidents/bondo jobs. 85,257 original miles. I've lost storage/interest, so, either someone buys it as a project to be finished or a great parts car, but it is going to go away by next weekend....Saturday, June 9th.
Engine: 100% rebuilt TPI 350, .030 over, stock rebuilt heads with 30degree intake seats, stock oil pump, cam, roller tip 1.5 rockers, Hyp pistons. 4" Intake pipe/K&N filter. Hi Flow 195 T-Stat, New water pump with summit hi-flow disc/impeller mod. 2001 Mustang Fuel Injectors. BBK adj. Fuel Psi Reguletor. Runs great. May need slight tune due to other mods. All A/C compontents there/connected but not charged, was not charged when I bought the car. Air pump is on the car, but all other parts are not installed or are missing. Headers are not emission legal.
Exhaust Hedman Elite longtube headers, custom 2.5 in. y-pipe, 3.5in. intermediate/over axle into 3" edelbrock RPM single outlet muffler, single 3" tail pipe.
Trans Not rebuilt, mild shift kit ( chirps 2nd,) reman S-10 converter, fresh fluid/filter change. LS1 aluminum driveshaft, needs to be balanced.
Brakes Front, Upgraded to LS1 12" rotor/calipers, rear stock disc need to be serviced, discs and pads replaced.
Suspension All stock, all in good shape, Needs to be aligned/wheel off center.
Rear Axle BorgWarner 9bolt, 3:27 gear, stock, posi works, fresh fluid change, minor gear whine
Interior Grey, good condition, headliner is trash-will need replacement. No rips or tears, otherwise normal wear and tear. Needs Pass seat belt/retractor replaced, I have a used one from Hawks to go with car.
Exterior/Body Black ( metallic ) Paint in fair condition, bumper paint is cracked, otherwise good overall condition. Pass mirror replaced, previous owner must of clocked a mail box, I bought a black ( not a matching black,) mirror from Hawks, power, that works, but needs to be painted to match. Slight indent in door around mirror mounting. Has lexan t-tops but they have the typical cracking/spiderwebbing, also has a set of glass t-tops. Rust, 3in. diameter rust on floor directly under driver-rear seat, not rusted all the way through but nor far from it. Otherwise, no big rusty areas, spots, etc. Original owner must of had it undercoated. Rear wing is garbage, needs replacement. I cut off the rusted/busted legs that run up the edge of the rear hatch/glass. So it looks like the older style firebird wing, ( I didn't just remove the whole wing due to not wanting to disconnect the third brake lamp, etc.)
Audio It came with a an amp and two subs that both work, but are not installed, I'll throw in an Awia cd/MP3 deck I've got laying around.
Chassis Competition engineering bolt in subframe connectors, the big-thick-nice ones, I was going to weld them in, but time has run out, so they are only bolted in at the moment. All 4 tires are new, Kuhmo Ecsta stock size. Wheels are in fair shape, no curb rash, but clear coat looks scratched up.
It runs/drives but has driveshaft vibration issues. Like I said, lost interest, and loosing storage so it must go. I don't have any pics and If I can't get some together by tonight, it probably won't happen. All the parts mentioned I've installed on the car, so they have less than 300 miles on them, ( rbuilt engine, tires, front brakes, etc.)

Update,
I made a video Thursday night, 6/14/07, and I've uploaded it to youtube under the name " 1989 Formula " I checked and the video is available to view. My first attempt was a corrupted or invalid file, the second attempt works fine.

For those that have called me, please check the video out and if necessary, I can make another tommorow night if you need any more pics/video, etc. Now that I can display them pretty easily, please do not hesitate to ask for more pics, I don't want any miscommunication about purchasing this car.
Update on rear brakes, I did measure them and the rotors are just under minimum machinable thickness, so although there is aprox 40% pad life left, you'll probably need pads and rotors in the near future. I did check the parking brake function as well, the pass rear caliper sticks ( from the caliper, not the cables,) so if you want to use it, probably have to check all the lube points on the caliper or rebuild the caliper itself. Cables seem to work/move freely.
Update Exterior paint, I talked to someone more knowledgable about the paint problems that this gen. had, and I need to make a correction, the door jambs are not an exact match to the fender/exterior paint. The jambs are a flater black while the exterior is a metallic black, like previously mentioned.

I will call you in the morning - as long as you are available this weekend and as long as the vibration isn't bad enough to hinder its ability for a road trip - consider it sold.
