91 Firebird $1000 obo. Must go quick

I'm moving and can't take my project with me. My loss is your gain. This car isn't in great shape, but has some great parts. It might be a project for someone, but its more than likely a very nice parts car. Car is in Normal, IL. I cannot ship or move it. You need to come trailer it away.

The good:

Hood, front bumper, rear deck (with highrise spoiler) front quarterpanels, Formula hood and doors all have fairly fresh paint on them with only minor knicks. (front doors have a tiny amount of rust on the bottom seam in the most common areas). Front bumper has minor spiderwebbing All are from a different car.

305 TBI still runs strong with no leaks in engine or auto tranny (170,000 mi)

Interior is pretty good all around, front carpet is meh, rear carpet is great, dashpad has only a few small cracks. Just replaced most of it a few years ago.

15" goldlace wheels. 3 are great, 1 is peeling a little.

Headlights work perfectly. Pulldown motor is perfect.

The bad:

Steering column is torn apart, can go back together, but have been hunting down problems with turn signals, horn and fog lights. None of those items work. Air bag is cracked, steering wheel is faded and slightly bent. Steering column is a bit wobbly. I don't have time to reassemble for you. Sorry

Body is soft and has rust issues in the floor and quarterpanels. Car has a rebuilt title and remains of damage show in the rear. Bad paint covers the unibody portion of the car. Rear wheel wells are bad. This section needs major work.

Tires are drivable but are not very good. Need replaced soon.

Here's a few pics:

You can find more at http://s307.photobucket.com/albums/n.../firebird0408/

Keep in mind some of those pics show progress, and none of them show it with the new spoiler/deck. It has a later era high rise spoiler, not the base model one.

This car is half great, half bad. Please ask any questions, I can get you more pics if needed, but the best I can do is a cell phone camera. Car must be gone at the end of August, need agreement to buy in the next week (maybe two) or its getting parted and scrapped. All serious offers will be considered.

(Please no parts requests in this thread. If I do part it out, I'll post threads for that later).

Thanks!

Bump... and guys I'm not joking about making me an offer. I need this car gone and don't have time to part it. If you don't like 1,000, throw out an offer and lets talk!

If your thinking you might need this car for parts or anything, make me an offer guys. I don't really have the time to take it apart, but its probably only got a week or so left before I've gotta have it spoken for or start breaking it down

Re: 91 Firebird $1000 obo. Must go quick

Its been a daily driver for much of its life, and the engine/tranny seem to work very well. I've recently replaced the water pump and the motor runs strong. Once the steering column is put back together, the biggest problems are taking care of non working turn signals and a non working horn as well as a bad fan switch that keeps the fan from coming on (turning on the AC turns the fan on) The rust isn't dangerous now, mostly a cosmetic issue, but it will need addressed in the near future.

It runs solid and I can't see why it wouldn't get to Kentucky... but at the same time, I can't say I would recommend trying it.

Hi,

How far is normal IL, from Scott AFB IL? I currently have a project car, which is an 89 formula, and i think that this would be the perfect opertunity for me to use. Currently i am deployed in Afghanistan, and will be back in Sept. Is it possible to have one of my co-workers pick it up if i were to buy it? Or, when do you need it gone?

Golden45-

Scott AFB appears to be roughly 175 miles from Normal. Looking at about a 3 hour drive. If you've got a buddy who wants to tow it back for you, I'm sure we can work something out, or I can possibly hold it at my family's house till you get back if you don't have other options.

PM me if you want more info or pictures, I'm sure I can help you figure out if my car has what you need to get your formy going.

Car has been torn apart. Will be in the salvage yard tomorrow. I may advertise pieces that i pulled from it later. Thanks for the interest guys.

Golden45: Please PM me if there's certain parts your looking for. I saved almost all of the "good" on this car, only unibody, drivetrain and bad interior/trim are heading to the scrapyard.
