if you haven't yet, I suggest posting an ad on earlythirdgen.com. They specialize in 1982-1984 Trans Ams and there are many 15th anniversary lovers over there.

Man, I wish I could be the one to buy it. That car is absolutely stunning. It's the nicest 15th anniversary I ever seen and one of the absolute nicest third gens out there. You should keep it if you have a safe storage for it. Awesome

Thanks for the props Firebreather and Camaro-454, we may never find a buyer for the car but at least we have discovered that there are some really nice people on this site!

Re: 1984 15th Anniversary Trans AM for sale in Maine
"Under the hood rests the most powerful engine option for 1984, the L69 305 H.O., which generated 190 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque, a healthy 15hp bump from the previous year's Crossfire Injection variant. Fuel is delivered through an electronic Q-jet, and the cold air is inhaled through a func-tional offset hoodscoop. The cam timing is 202/206-degrees duration at 0.050 with 0.403/0.415 lift and a 114.5 LSA. The heads feature 1.84/1.50 valves. Steve's example is shifted automatically via a 700-R4 trans, making it 1-of-1,000, and the rearend sports a limited slip and 3.73 rear gears."
I live in Connecticut and wondered if this was a typical LG4 with a 190HP 305, the above copy and paste made me realize this is a true gem and I stand corrected now. Showing some interest...this is a beautiful Trans Am.
If I were to actually buy this, I would drive it rather than arrive with a trailer. Very tempting but I have to ask, has it won any trophies?

IrocTheZ28, the car is as advertised and even though the 190HP seems lame compared to today's standards, it was fairly potent for 1984. Car has not won any trophies because it has never been showed, that will be your new hobby if you decide to purchase it. You are not that far from Portland, you should come up and check the car out!

Re: 1984 15th Anniversary Trans AM for sale in Maine
Just for any interested party's info: It is looking like we have a serious buyer for this old gem. Out of respect for the buyer's privacy we won't divulge details about the sale (or buyer) that is pending. But we have had awesome support from the members here, so wanted to extend the courtesy of keeping you informed.
We will post again when the deal is finalized and hopefully the buyer will comment in the future on the car and his/her impressions. It has been in the family for over a quarter of a century, and understandably makes us protective of, as well as interested in, the car's future. We can certainly say the buyer seems to have a true love of, and connection to this particular model and hope that he or she shares the story in the future. We are certain she is going to a good home

Re: 1984 15th Anniversary Trans AM for sale in Maine
After 26 years, this Gem is off on a new adventure to be appreciated in a new home. Our thanks to everyone on this site for the kind words about the car, as well as tips and best wishes for our sale.
Now that the transaction is complete, I will say that the new owner received this exact car in his earlier years as a gift from his father. He ultimately crashed and totaled that car (to the dismay of his Dad as well as himself). He has, for years, longed to replace the vehicle and was delighted to happen upon "his car" again on this site in such pristine condition. So we know the car is in the hands of someone whom, perhaps even more than a collector, had a very special connection and longing for this exact car. Through our subsequent interactions with them to close the deal, we know the vehicle is with a really nice guy and an equally nice wife (to entertain his obsession for this car and even travel out with him to drive it home-"she's a keeper").
We added the final shots of the car backing out of her home of a quarter century, and putting Maine in its rearview mirror. She was first taken to a tire dealer in Portland to get "re-shoed", and then driven well over a thousand miles to her new home. (The Good Year Eagles were original-so were not to be trusted to such a drive).
Our thanks again everyone!
