The good: Car is clean. Zero rust. Lots of good parts.
The bad: needs paint, and the drivetrain is showing its age. The transmission has trouble shifting from 1st to 2nd when its cold. Car failed emissions. Needs headiner.
This was my project for a long time, and I just don't have the motivation or time to finish it. It's a great starting point for a v8 swap.

Re: 91 Firebird
haha, never gave it a name. Failed emissions because of high CO at idle. Thinking probably an O2 sensor or something. To be honest, I have had alot of free time to mess with it and fix it. My daily driver was down so that was my priority.

Re: 91 Firebird
I would have thought with the obvious amount of work you did you would've had a name, mistress would be good. Around here anything older than '96 just gets a visual (joke) inspection. So the mechanic is supposed to know what emissions equipment it originally came with.

Re: 91 Firebird
That's no problem, all of the emissions stuff is still on there. Trouble is, here in Allegheny county, they do tail pipe testing still.
I don't know, over the years I've called the car ****, bitch, skank.. depending on how it was acting.

Re: 91 Firebird
nah, no thanks. I'm trying to get out of the thirdgen game. The next project is gonna be a 04-06 GTO, which this is going to help fund.
Oh, and it looks like I missed your post earlier in the thread, and no rust.

Re: 91 Firebird
I want it... Bad... Wish I had the cash. I know you said no trades but it never hurts to throw it out there. I have a 1995 S10, 4 cyl 5 speed. It is a regular cab short bed. And it runs good. the interior is nice for the year. Alot of miles on the truck but the engine only has about 40,000 on it. Shot in the dark but with gas prices jumping, who knows.
edit: email me at doug355gta@hotmail.com with a ys or no please. I don't get to get on here as often as I like. Thanks

Re: 91 Firebird
sure thing, I'll email ya. Sounds like a nice truck, but I'm going to have to pass. I really have my heart set on a GTO, so all funds are going to that end right now. And I have my GTP still as a daily.

Re: 91 Firebird
You didn't state this in the description but is it a auto or 5spd? The pic looks like a manual shifter in the console and you mentioned it has trouble shifting when its cold. Just curious.
I'm actually 40 mins south of Morgantown and we don't have emissions test here in WV(thank god). Looks like a very nice car.

Re: 91 Firebird
I'm having troubles navigating this site. However I have a question. Ihave a 91 firebird that has been slightly wrecked, bought it that way. It rear ended another car just enough to set the airbag off and now it will not start or even crank over. Whats the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
