Anyone interested in purchasing a Firebird, Formula, Trans Am, GTA 85-90 Wrap around Rear Spoiler, New fiberglass Aftermarket. I called Hawks and they said I only need 10 people and you get $50.00 off each purchase. I am considering ordering 2, so that means I need only 8 more people. If you are interested in ordering….when you place your order just say it’s under the thirdgen.org group purchase. Any hopefully enough people are interested so we all the $50.00 off.
The site says originally $399, now $349. Do we get it for $299? I'm in if that's the case.

Yeah you would get it for $299 if we can get 10 people to order. The only other thing you would have to pay is the $15 dollar boxing fee. Shipping isn't included as well. But call them up and see what it will be.
I'm from switzerland and ordered a 1988 Trans Am wrap around spoiler from northcountry fiberglass. However it never got shipped even tho I paid for it.
Now, I've got a container full of parts sitting in NJ but can't get shipped to Switzerland due to the missing wing.
Does anybody have such a wing for sale or is willing to sell a used one in good condition? Shipping will be to 07001 NJ and should take place ASAP..
I hope somebody can help me out....and please stay away from northcountry fiberglass!!!
That is a good point.... When I talked to Steve (extension # 11) from Hawks he said that once ten orders have been received then he will process all the orders at the discounted price. So basically it is like putting in a regular order for the spoiler and its just a matter of getting 10 people on board. I'm not sure if anyone has ordered yet. Hopefully there is enough interest. Hope that answered your question and spread the word so we can get 10 people.
I'm in no rush, but will buy one. How can we "get in" on that price? Tell them when ordering? I'm out of country, but will ship it to Iowa, so calling them is a bit of a hassle.
Lakin, can you tell me what to do, exactly? Thanks!

Hey RednGold, I tried calling Hawks today but got no one. considering its good friday they might be closed. I'm going to call them first thing monday and see what they say about ordering. Last time Steve said you would just place a regular order for it and once there is 10 orders then each one will get $50.00 off. Just when placing the order say that you are apart of the group purchase for thirdgen or under my name Chris Lakin. I just would like to know if you place an order online how will will they know your apart of the group buy. So I will call them monday and see what the deal is for that. I take it you will probably be ordering online since your out of the country. Ill keep you and everyone posted.
I talked to Hawks today. They said that if you want to get in on the group purchase, you would have to call in the order and say it is under the Thirdgen.org group buy. 1-864-855-2694 is the number and ask for either Steve or Bruce. They will keep the orders in a seperate folder. Once they have Ten or more orders i believe they will process them. Just one thing to note....there is a backorder on the spoilers. So it won't be shipping out right away. He said it could be 4-6 weeks. Just letting everyone know ahead of time so no one gets pissed. I'm going to be ordering mine this week sometime. It looks like there is some interest. I hope we can get the ten we need. $299 is a good price for that.

Talked to Steve last fri., and added my order into the folder, and he said I
was #3 confirmed. Since I left a credit card #, I assume that's the pre-req
for confirmation. I don't know how long they'll keep the "folder open", but
I assume they won't arbitrarily up the charge and then ship without your
consent -- at least I hope so.
At any rate, we could certainly use some more commitment/confirmations.

Okfoz left a ringing endorsement for this piece; and all the ones in the junkyards are worse than the one I have. You won't find it cheaper anywhere. $299+$15 boxing fee plus shipping (which is paid directly to the delivery dude). We need 6 more confirmed people. Its already cruisin' season and driving around with electrical tape covering the holes is NOT cool; neither is drivin around with a ghetto one.
I also think this forum doesn't get enough play. Can we advertise this thread in the body or appearence section?
If I remember, I'll call them tonight or tomorrow morning to place an order as well.

I heard from Steven @ Hawks and theyre getting the spoilers in within a week. Start annoying your friends...this wing is big enough...it'd look great on an integra
I'd like to get one myself, I'm doing speaker boxes on the side. I have two committed for s-10 boxes which will be enough to pay for this spoiler. If everything goes as planned I'll jump in and put my name in the pot in a week or so. I need this spoiler bad, my current one is dropping rust flakes in my hatch every time I open/close it.
A year ago I would have used a credit card, but I'm trying to pay off my bills.
I'm not in a "big" hurry, but I would like to try and get one in the next month or so.
What I don't understand is that you can buy one of these for $339 from them on eBay + the boxing fee and shipping charges. As a eBay seller myself, if I sold something for $339, I would owe ebay at least $30 and close to $10 in paypal fees. So your looking at approx $40 that it would cost them to sell this same spoiler to us through the auction site.
Having said that, how come we have to wait until 10 people order? They could just pass the savings (from not buying on eBay) back to us w/o the GP?

I may decide to put an order in too, I don't think they'll get any cheaper than $299. My old one looked like some animal took a big bite out of it.

Yeah, pay him with a personal check, no cash. And like I said, open the box and look at it before he leaves, once you sign your name on the dotted line it's yours and you're probably stuck with it.

I'm here finally. Just had a baby girl, and was at the hospital for a while (I'm in China, and they keep you in the hospital for like 5 days automatically) - Also, I was having problems getting onto thirdgen.org forever - I think the great firewall was blocking it (along with youtube...). But, today, the internet seems fast (relatively speaking).
I'll call for one today, but I know it's already more than 10. Won't be able to install it for quite a while, but might as well spend the money on parts gradually when deals come along to take the sting out of buying all at once later.
