92 chassis differences

Engine: a big one
Transmission: 4 spd auto soon to be a 6 speed
92 chassis differences
i have been reading on a bunch of these threads, and i have been seeing alot of the 92 f-bodies are stiffer than previous years.
are there any parts that gm put in that made them stiffer or what? and if so, where can i get these parts or make them?

I don't know if its because my car is a convertible, or because its a '92, but it looks like it has factory subframe connectors. Instead of the pinch flange all the way down the rockers like on my '87, my '92 is boxed all the way down.

I think that's the convertible reinforcement, on the outside of the pinchweld? My 89 has it too. the SFC's will still fit, at least on mine it looks like they will, since they go inside the pinchweld.

Correct if I'm wrong, but I think the structural adhesives made the 92's tighter. This you couldn't duplicate, but maybe you can add some covertible-type reinforcements.

Yea, the factory SFC's are a convertible thing.
The 91-92 F-bodies used a different seam sealer and also a glue between adjoining panels that served as a structural component, stiffening the chassis. Cant add that feature to an older car besides the seam sealer, but I dont think the seam sealer did as much.
You could have the car seam welded. That helps. It'd need a repaint after that though.
