Original Tire Size

I was wondering what size tires originally came on the 15" rims in 1988? I don't know if it matters but it's a SC.

Wow that was fast. Thanks Willie.

On a side note, I'm in desperate need of new tires but can't really afford them right now. I have a friend that has some P205-70/R15 he said I could have. Would they look funny on my car...or even fit? My car has P205-65/R15's on it right now.

They say timing is everything.... or nothing. Just happened to be on line just after you posted your question... and I knew the answer.

I have a Goodyear tire size chart with specs. It does not list P205-70/R15 but it lists P215-70/R15's recommended rim width as 5.5" to 7.5" inches. So the P205's should fit on the stock 7" width. Funny looking? Maybe but you'll have to be the judge of that. In my book, funny looking was when my father-in-law had 75-series WHITEWALLS mounted on original 16-inch alloys on his GM Sonoma (S-10 lookalike)!! Man, I was embarassed to drive that truck. I even offered to pay to have the tires reversed and rebalanced but my father-in-law "liked them"! Yuk....
