I have KR season one too. Its been out for 6 months I think. Got my for my birthday back in August.
There were many KITTs. I think at the high point there were about nine for various scenes and stunts. Lots of T/As were destroyed in jumps too.
At the end of the show Universal was contractually required to crush all the cars used in the series but apparently one is known to escape. This car was restored by Marks Kustom Kits a few years ago. It was a stunt car that was modified to do 180's and skids.
The cars used for display(World Of Wheels, Universal amusment park, etc ...) are still around. These cars are pretty basic. There is one at the Volo Auto Museum. It plugs into the wall to light up the dash and scanner.
Hasselhoff also had two KITTs made for his European rock tour in the late 80's.

Got mine when it first came out!
Suncoast had a special for 25 bucks! I should have bought some spares!!
I still need to watch it!
Too bad it doesn't have all the Pontiac commericals that played when it was new! That's how I got my TV ads taped! I recored Knight Rider when it was new!
I talked with George Barris at SEMA this last year, and he said there were 14 cars built, and 6 jump cars! He's pretty old and fragile, so who knows if that was ture! His memory may be off.
Later,
George

While KR is a 3rd gen TA, the whereabouts of the car is not really history related. It also was not a real car so there is no restoration options available for. The DVD set for season 1 or 2 is not relevant to this forum. Sorry, but this needs to be closed.
