Do a search.

F41 means 2 different things. It was an upgraded suspension package on most models. It was also a conversion made by an aftermarket company. The car was ordered with certain options and the upgraded suspension, sent to a conversion company for visual upgrades and called it the F41 Camaro. Not a rare car because it was aftermarket.

Quite a few cars actually have the F41 suspension, but they are not called F41 Camaros.

I have never heard of the F41 option before. I went and checked the options tag in the console and I see that I have the F41 option. The car is a 1991 RS. It looks like any other 1991 RS, so I dont think that it has anything different visually.

What suspension upgrades does the package give you vs a non F41 RS? What does an RS with F41 suspension lack compared to a Z28 with or without F41?

F41 is basically the mid-level suspension system. You have the base suspension, then F41, then IROC/WS6/1Le. In my 1991 T/A the f41 package had the same suspension (minus the disc brakes) as the '85-86 WS6 (34mm and 19mm sway bars and struts) So in a way it's a hand-me-down suspension. Or as I call it '85 spec-Ws6 suspension'

I have the f41 suspension. On the RPO sheet it says
F41 : SUSPENSION SYSTEM, FRT, RR, FIRM RIDE, HANDLING

The suspension does feel a little different than my other two 91 Rs cars. This one is a 92 RS and it seems to have a slight rake or stance.

Actually your 90% correct, This is for any given year, not to be crossing years, as through the yearslike you stated the '91 F41 WS6 suspension was essentially the 85 WS6 suspension

There is the base standard suspension

The F41 was the base suspension I believe on the Trans Am and the Z28

The WS6 was the top suspension for the Trans Am, and it was the only suspension for the GTA and Formula.

The IROC to my knowledge did not get the same suspension as the WS6. They handled similar, but the components are completely different.

1) THe IROC got the Wonderbar, Firebirds did not
2) The IROC suspension (FE2) used stiffer springs, whereas the WS6 was larger sway bars.

The combination of the Wonderbar and the stiffer springs achieved similar performance results, and one is not significanylt better than the other.

The 1LE, I am not sure on, I suspect it got some of the larger compnents of hte WS6, but I can only speculate. Soemoene will have to measure the 1LE front sway bars on a camaro to see if in fact they are 36mm.

WHat I would find an interesting experiment is to thake the IROC Wonderbar ($50 bux) and springs, and then use the WS6 sway bars.

My car rides like a brick now, with all I have done I can only imagine.

in the Suspension section, there is a post where somebody did a lot of experimenting with spring/sway bar combos.......if your ride quality is bad, his findings was that heavy springs/lighter bars gave a better ride than stock springs/heavy bars......couldnt find the post right off hand..........
