1LE Fuel Tank

Does any one know where to get a replacement fuel tank for a third gen 1LE car? The dealer only shows one listing, after market companys I have seen only have 1 listing, however I have read up that the 1LE package included an 18 gal. tank with some kind of swinging pickup and a baffle inside the tank to prevent starvation.

I would like to replace my plane jane one for the 1LE if I can find it, but no luck so far.

Thanks

All 89 and up gas tanks are the same as 1LE

Was the 1LE tank a reality? The TTA's were supposed to get them but they were the same as any other tank.

You could get the late LS1 plastic tanks as they were 16.8(I think). And they should bolt right in.

Re: 1LE Fuel Tank

I have yet to see anybody with an 18 gallon tank. Regardless of how anybody wants to rearrange numbers to fudge 18 gallons. Mine was completely emptied for the fuel pump install and completely filled back up and took 16 gallons, filling the neck up.

Everything about the TTA was 1LE, no difference in the tank from a GTA.

Nothing about the TTA was 1LE, only the front brakes. After all a TTA(Y82)was a GTA(Y84), and a GTA could not bo a 1LE.

I could have sworn that my L69 tank had some kind of thin black plastic baffles, almost in like a big egg crate design. It's been a few years and memory being what it is. It looked more like it was suppose to prevent the tank from collapsing, rather than to prevent gas from sloshing.

Re: 1LE Fuel Tank

None the less the 1LE option was very rare, I do know that. But does any one know where or how to get a tank for it? Finding a 1LE optioned car in the junk yard is pretty much impossible.

Thanks

The literature about the TTA(1988) included the 1LE tank. Springs and shocks(?) were different than GTA also.

I'd have to dig up a brochure to see what that says.
