um have you looked for "camaro" seats. i have them, no one sells them. They are hard to find trust me! the ones with three "camaro" are also not very common, rare maybe not but in good condition hard to find. and 4 wheel disc not super rare but always wanted and it adds value. sorry to burst the bubble.

You're not getting the picture...
Your car is an 85 IROC-Z in yellow with the LS Conteur seat option. These seats were fairly common in 84 and 85, but have become somewhat "rare" today because the material is all but gone. Rare seats does not add value to the car. Posi, auto, TPI, disc rear, and ttops all add to the desirability of the car because it has options, but it again does not make it a super rare 85 car that is worth a mint. You said the car needs paint and who knows what else. Based on the description you gave with the mileage and rim damage, I'm thinking the $800 was well spent and the seller was probably happy he got it. When you're done restoring the car and making it show room new again, $12,000 later, you might get $8k-10k for it.

Yeah, I'm with you on that.
Just to confirm what was touched on above . . .
- Yellow is kind'a rare, but at 4,599 (all models) painted that colour in '85, it wouldn't have a much of an influence on value.
- All '85 Irocs with the TPI (only the 5.0L TPI was available, no 5.7L of any kind offered) had an auto tranny.
- 3.73 was not offered on your ride. It is either a 3.23 (by far the most likely) or the 3.42 (with the G92 package).

TPI for added value an opinion not a fact. I would never buy a TPI but that's me. also interior could add some value but only to the one who knows what it is. would or should someone pay 200 bucks more, no but it just makes the deal better. check nadaguides.com and post pics please.

Thus the only rear end this car, with the drivetrain it has, would be the 3.23.

I think Yellow does make it more valuable, if not collectible. I mean, how many Yellow iroc z28 do you really see anymore? And the interior may not make it any more expensive, but it sure makes it more desireable. I love all colors of third gen camaros. But I really love the Yellow.

Re: 1985 Factory Yellow iroc z28
Actually, I think I might have to correct this. I just remembered that you (Donald1992) mentioned the ride had t-tops. I don't believe the G92 was available on a t-top optioned model (anyone correct me if I'm wrong).
Thus the only rear end this car, with the drivetrain it has, would be the 3.23.

As to the value of the car, it all comes down to the buyer. Most people don't give two craps about that specific combo of colors or options, but some do. I love the yellow irocs, love black interiors, and also love the "CAMARO, CAMARO" interiors. TPI, t-tops and disc brakes would be icing on the cake. The car sounds like it's right down my alley, and I would be willing to pay more for something like that. But once again, most wouldn't

Love the Camaro interior. Because they were is short supply, each car with the LS (Lear Segler) Contour seat only got one, the driver's seat.

Re: 1985 Factory Yellow iroc z28
Check out my sig, I have ben told my car COULD be ROUGLY 1 of 40 built. Its a fully loaded 83 with 26k original miles on the body and interior. Even has the rear whiper blade.
Part of whats nice is I have yet to see a early third gen as nice as mine except for a few pace cars. My car would have some value for someone that loves the early third gens but thats about it. Well and racers.
What you have going for you is its yellow and you don't see many yellow third gens these days.
The miles is whats hurting you, even if it was car 1 of 1 the miles kills the value.
