WONDERING HOW MUCH A CERTAIN THIRD-GEN IS WORTH?
HEY, I AM CURRENTLY LOOKING AT AN '86 Z28 AND I WAS WONDERING ABOUT HOW MUCH SHOULD I BE PAYING FOR IT. IT IS AN '86 Z28 (NOT AN IROC, THE BASE Z28) WITH THE LG4 CARBURETED 305 AND A 5-SPEED MANUAL TRANNY. THE CAR IS MOSTLY STOCK ORIGINAL AND HAS ABOUT 150K MILES ON IT. SURPRISINGLY THOUGH IT STILL LOOKS AND RUNS VERY GOOD. EVEN THE ORIGINAL PAINT THAT'S ON IT STILL HAS A NICE SHINE AND LOOKS DECENT. ITS NOT PERFECT BUT OVERALL NICE FOR ITS AGE AND MILEAGE. IT IS WHITE WITH A RED INTERIOR. HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK ITS WORTH? PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

well NADA puts the average retail at 5,000 and the low at 2,850 which in my opinion is WAAAAY too much.
get under the car and see how bad the fuel/brake lines are rusted, look at the pans, see how bad the rubber mounts are cracked, hardened, etc.
drive it listen for rattles knocks etc.
if all that stuff is good then id say 2500 is ok.

Problem is the miles & the LG4... If the car is perfect, been rebuilt, a collectors piece then with those miles $5000... Beyond that what they said...
IF it was a LB9, or the holy grail for 1986 a L69 then I would say much more...
