Re: Video of BRAND NEW 1985 IROC-Z found in a trailer!!
Wow..might have the new record for odometer reading. It has 4.3 miles!
The wheels were taken off to put custom wheels on, but it was being put in storage before that could happened so the guy or whoever it was threw those steel wheels on. The new owner stated something to that effect in the comments below the vid.
Re: Video of BRAND NEW 1985 IROC-Z found in a trailer!!
I dont even know what to say about that.Too bad it wasnt a good guy cammed 305 tpi.Still should be worth a decent amount. Was there a dealership 4 miles away or something.j/k.I doubt it was really found.I heard the guy say he had the title and someone got the keys.I guess thts someones way of investing.depending on what he made from it it might not have been a bad Idea.

It still looks as if it was put away after it was delivered to the dealership though.

Re: Video of BRAND NEW 1985 IROC-Z found in a trailer!!
That's UNBELIEVEABLE. That car is a piece of history and belongs in a museum. That also has to be the lowest and newest conditioned Third Gen EVER. What I don't get is how he took delivery without the rims and GFX being put on. The rims were left off to be switched or whatever (which was stupid, if he doesn't have them) but the GFX were supposed to be put on before the customer could take the car IIRC. It looks as if he took it right off of the truck without any prep.

It does look as though there was no prep done to the car which is even more amazing. The carpet plastic still tells the dealer to remove it. The front air dam is in the back seat waiting to be put on the car with all the hardware still in the packaging. Freaking amazing

The TPI engine was not available with the T5 in 1985. The best engine would be the L69 305 HO with the 3.73 posi rear... Hopefully it isnt the LG4

And it probably would be worth even more if they hadn't OPENED IT. Just a theory, but then they could have not put fingerprints all over the hatch and such.
Oh well...I'd be curious to see what color it is. If you read the comments after, you can see he wants to sell it to the "right person who knows the right price". Too bad, I don't have $50 Gs to drop on it.
Re: Video of BRAND NEW 1985 IROC-Z found in a trailer!!
And ya'll BELIEVE this?
Looks like a faked "original"...Check out the tail lights.....HELLO!!!! Those are 90-92 lights. If it hasn't moved but 4 miles, why were the tail lights swapped out?

I was thinking the same thing, I was the one who asked him what state he is in with that thought in mind. Too bad I dont have the money to buy something like that.
Re: Video of BRAND NEW 1985 IROC-Z found in a trailer!!
Wow I cant imagine the amount of cash that will trade hands for that car!! Crazy that no prep work was done, but thats how iI would want mine if I ordered one. Would have been really cool if it was a players challenge car

I'm just curious to see it in person, he'll probably be asking way more than what it's really valued for though. If he's local, I'll try to add some credibility to this thread after closely looking it over. If I even considered buying it, the wife would kill me, literally, so I tell her I'm just going to look because it sounds a little too good to be true lol, especially here in NJ....

I smell fake.
You just don't know you thirdgens well enough.
Those ARE the CORRECT taillights for a 1985 IROC-Z. All IROC-Z's got grid styled taillights.

I don't not have anymore information on this. It was SPECULATED by some to be the same guy in Wisconsin who bought 21 trailers of unknown contents from a dead mans kids.
Here is the link on that. It is amazing what they found.
Re: Video of BRAND NEW 1985 IROC-Z found in a trailer!!
Yea i Saw one time about the guy who had 26 trailers in a magazine, except in that story some one had died and the family sold all the junk. All 26 trailers

I don't see any reason to believe that's not the real deal. It would be nearly impossible to bring a car back to pre-dealer prep condition like that. Not only that, it's tough to just fake the dust on it from sitting. When I bought my '83 Camaro it had been sitting since 1984 and it looked nearly identical to that. I've seen cars that sat in dusty places for a few years and they just have a little different look than a car that slowly picks up 20 years of dust.
Those tail lights were used on every IROC made so I have no idea why you wouldn't think they are right. I would have thought that was just common knowledge with most people on the board but I guess not.

Yeah those are the same taillights I have on my 87 Iroc.I understand stephen though.I have better things to do than remember EVERYTHING about 82-92 f bodys.I`m quite often wrong about stuff like that.

He has posted a few times that he will not be cleaning the car up, and that he will leave it to the next owner. It appears he is not going to keep the car:

This car has the LG4 engine 155hp. Bummer! The car was purchased and lives in NJ. I have not and will not start or wash this car for fear of damaging a very rare vehicle. I will let the next owner make that decision.

Yes I know about the wheels. Story is they were sold when the car was new to purchase custom wheels. The custom wheels never made it on the car. I am not going to touch the car. I will be selling it as is either privately or on ebay. Anybody interested?

On that note, I do hope whoever gets ahold of it will get on here and start a thread on the clean up process. Maybe the guy who has it now can stipulate that in his sale agreement. haha.
I have to say...the thought of finding a car like this, or any older car in this condition just sitting in a trailer is one heck of a fantasy. I would love to have that opportunity some day.

Re: Video of BRAND NEW 1985 IROC-Z found in a trailer!!
As I was watching that video I was waiting for the next scene where the water hits it and the paint comes alive. Then the new battery and gas can appears and they fire it up and you wonder how many cranks it will take before the engine roars to life. Man that would have made a great video. Or even the barging process where the one guy says how much and they bicker and the other old man (not knowing what it's worth) says like 8 grand and it's yours... I'll get the keys. Like that old man in Christen. lol
