was there ever trans am door decal like iroc decal?

hey guys i think i have seen them before but can anyone clarify if trans ams ever had door lettering decals?

i have seen one on a junk yard car but was on the ground effects under the door

i think it would look good on the door in black letters and at the bottom be like the iroc decal with lines going through it

and if there was is there anyone selling it now?

anyone?

im pretty sure i have seen it on the early 82-84 models where it had a few layers of pin stripes going thin to thick from top to bottom on the lower edge of the car all the way around

and trans am would be spelt within those lines on the door

just never saw it again just in a picture i saw years ago

and i would like it for my car

thats correct. the 1984 trans am 15th anniversary editions had that decal. the cars were white with blue decals. you can buy the decal kit from phoenix graphix. http://www.phoenixgraphix.com/transam/8415th.htm

Yea email phoenix graffics and ask. Im sure they could do it but it might cost extra since they never came that way from the factory.

Re: was there ever trans am door decal like iroc decal?

The 91-92 Trans Am had some largeish "Trans Am" decals on the door on the ground f.x.

one thing I will tell you, make sure it is in the correct font for the year. If you just pick some lame font and have it cut out in vinyl they look like crap.

Re: was there ever trans am door decal like iroc decal?

Here,
I believe this was the correct lettering for 1982 - 1986 Trans Am's

I have the original in CorelDRAW! so you can have it vinyl cut.

yes it is a graphic design program but I don't think you need it to save the file. I would say you should be able to save it, print it out take it to a graphics maker etc. then they should be able to replicate it. Am I right John?

yea I think so. Also I think they should be able to enhance it if its not good enough. (I am going by what I've seen and heard) The file John attached seems to be the right size for the decal itself anyway. Also I was looking on Phoenix Graphics and they should have the decals you want separately. At least according to this:
http://www.phoenixgraphix.com/transam/1984ta.htm
I am going to order the whole thing when I get to that point; so you might want to call and see what they mean by names can be ordered separately.

i want that photo above that has the trans am logo from the 15th anniversary trans am in big letters on the door

i can ask phoenix grpahics to make it in black

but they are alittle pricey

if i can get the image document id like to see if i can find a better deal locally first

Re: was there ever trans am door decal like iroc decal?

I would take the font and the photo to the local vinyl decal shop and have them put two and two together to make it. Shouldn't be too hard for them to do with todays technology. Good Luck with it. It would look great on those cars if done right. I am sure you are planning on doing that anyway.

Re: was there ever trans am door decal like iroc decal?

CorelDRAW! is a Vector program, more like a combination between CAD and a photo editing program. The only other popular program that I can think of is Adobe Illustrator. They both do the same thing. Many Vinyl shops like CorelDraw because it is easier to use and less expensive...

If you go to a sign shop, ask them if they will make you a couple of decals, if I sent you the file all you have to do is give it to them on disk. They should make it on any type & color of vinyl you want.

Of course the easiest thing you could do is just get it from Phoenix.

Re: was there ever trans am door decal like iroc decal?

I just called and purchased the door logos from the 15th anniversary kit in black from phoenix graphics

20 dollar custom request charge since they offered it only in blue and i requested black

also purchased 1984 lower stripes molding in black

6 stripes going around the lower part the car above the ground effects

the stripes go from thin to thick from top to bottom.

i'll post pictures in a month or so once the decals come in and i have time to apply them

thanks guys
