im not a reseller type ... more of a hoader type..i would like to find one more dash pad and another console pad.. and a couple other parts that get "used" up during the life of the car ..

i have a pointer .. if your window and door lock switches are in great shap .. cut a piece of clear tape and put it over them so you done wear off the printing.. i use 3M clear guard on mine.. works great..and its a low adhesive so it wont affect the printing..

A dash cap for an 82-84 firebird/trans am with the double stitching or a cheaper replacement pad...I bought one on ebay that was perfect and got cracked during shipping.

That too would be nice. Well you can already do that but it requires buying new switches.

The switches are easy. The console and radio faceplate - not so much.

id like an overhead console, headlight louvers, and i wish they made fenders with the 70s louvers on the side.
and alot of parts you can order from classic industries if you order their magazine/catalog altough it does get somewhat ridicuosly pricy sometimes

HELM still prints all of the factory service manuals, if you don't mind paying $75-110 for them. Otherwise you can find just about any year on Ebay if you're vigilant. There were at least 3 of each on Ebay... Maybe try a different search string... "1992 Camaro Service Manual" or "1987 Camaro Service Manual" worked for me.

Most of you guys are talking about stuff that's easy enough to find if you actually search for it. Or you're talking about things that don't fall under restoration parts. Don't forget, this is the History and Restoration forum, not the PIMP MY 'MARO forum.

i found a 89 service manual for $25 in the first week I had my car.

I agree with whoever said a 5 speed shifter plate is needed. I got lucky and found one here for a good price. But they are few and far between

Re: The Wish List,What do you guys want that you can't get

For me, it has to be the weatherstripping that goes around the doors. I believe the GM price is about $400 for both doors!!!!

On the topic of Helms manuals - that has got to be the best value for about $100 you can ever spend. I'm building the library of manuals for my cars and the Haynes manuals I'll use as doorstops and under table legs.

When I got my 92, I picked up a Chilton's manual for it, and its not much better than the Haynes manuals I've used in the past. I found my GM shop manual on Ebay after about 6 weeks of watching and waiting. The Chilton's manual I still use if I just need to look up the torque specs on something. It's a much smaller manual so its easier to find them than it is in my shop manual.

Re: The Wish List,What do you guys want that you can't get

If you take the Haynes and Chilton Manual, you kinda get a complete repair manual so long as you don't go by all of the Non-3rd Gen F-body reference pics... LOL!

A1 Tony, are you still here? ...uhg, Mustang guys, sheesh!

Seriously tho, I'd bet we won't see many new Resto parts until the economy gets a lot better.

Re: The Wish List,What do you guys want that you can't get

Hey guys, sorry if Tony hasn't gotten back (he's got a few forums he's gotta watch over. I just stick with the F-body stuff, so I'm here more than he is). We're definitely listening though! While we are trying to work with some of our suppliers on some new things, these things take a long while. However, we are always looking for new parts and new suppliers, so who knows what the future will bring

I also know that it would be the heat if you could reproduce the 90-92 window switches, hatch release switch, and the coveted vert tonneu cover release switch, all with the little yellow pictures on them. The ones that are out there are, well, overpriced.

Couldn't agree more!!

27. rubber seals at the bottom of doors - 20395138
28. Reinforcement for front bumper - 10118418

Its unfortunate that these parts are all discontinued when there is still a demand for them and down the road, a lot of people are going to want to restore their thirdgens. Who knows how many NOS parts GM destroyed. A member of my local car club works at a GM dealership and he told me his work had a new 85-92 TA hood that had been sitting for years. GM paid the dealer for the hood and said to throw it out. The guy who works there wanted it but the dealer wouldn't let him take it.

If anyone has any of the above NOS parts kicking around or if you have any leads on any, feel free to pm me or email me at andy91gta at hotmail dot com. Thanks.

Re: The Wish List,What do you guys want that you can't get

I know one thing that I am having a hard time finding is a reproduction steel hood for 1985-1992 Z28 camaros. The ones that I do find are original and have dents and STILL have 400 to 500 dollar price tags! These hoods used to be a dime a dozen 10 years ago. One thing that I noticed about these hoods is most of them crack toward the front corners on the edge near the fender. Hood blistors for 1991 and 1992 camaros that dont cost 300 dollars. Wheels for 1989 IROCZ cars? What about repros of the air filter assemblies for tune port cars? Dash cluster sets for 91 and 92 camaros that dont cost 350 to 500 used.

I would like to find a mint ORIGINAL GM rear spoiler and black leather seat covers. If I ever do find them I am sure I couldn't afford them though.

Re: The Wish List,What do you guys want that you can't get

I really need to locate a High Output rear bumper emblem in red, but I'd be happy to get one in any color that's not broken or chewed up from removal. Also need to find a combination fog lamp / rear wiper switch. This was a two position rocker that operated both the fogs and rear wiper. The fog only just went from center to up. This goes both up & down. The rear wiper switches are hard enough to find but I've never seen another dual function switch in any condition. Mine still has the original switch but its lettering is almost completely worn off.
These are for my silver / red decal, black L/S interior, L69 5-speed, T-Top IROC. Built November 1984. One of the first IROC's off the line!

Found some on Ebay recently. Cleaned them up, primered and painted them with gloss black Rustoleum. Looks good. Compared them to the other brackets I had mistakenly ordered a while back from an IROC and totally different in shape.

All sorts of 82-84 Firebird parts :
- 83-84 Trans Am and DT500 front bumper inserts
- Firebird Lear Siegler seat covers repro (at least the front bottoms with the bolster, it's the only difference with Deluxe seats covers)
- center console knee pad
- dash board (not just a cover)
- headlight bezels

For the most part the big stuff is easy enough to get ahold of or to recondition with a few exceptions. When restoring these cars or trying to make your ride look new again those little things here and there add up. It can be quite frustrating to find everything you need.

Re: The Wish List,What do you guys want that you can't get

I would honestlt like to see an engine cover like the new camaros have or even some like the ls1 corvetts and gtos had. They clean up the engine bay so much and hide all the nast hoses and mass amounts of wires our cars have. Just a thaught I'm trying to make one myself by modifying one from a hemi 5.7 charger its the only thing I can think of sence the plenum is so high on the motor

Re: The Wish List,What do you guys want that you can't get

I would pay good money for a new 82-84 Firebird console and 5speed shift plate. These parts are not available anywhere. I have 2 84's with new carpet, headliners, seats, etc. The interior looks great minus the console.

I know that there is not huge market for these parts, but I think if priced well they would sell. This goes for all other 82-84 specific parts as well.

The little removeable corners of the center console would be great as well, they're always broken or missing.

Things I haven't seen listed in this thread:

1. Speaker grills
2. Reproduction wiring harnesses (or at least the parts to build your own)
3. All the decals on the car (ie: tire pressure, warnings, hose routings, emissions, anything else required for accurate restoration)

Things I also look for that have been listed:

1. Accurate repop center consoles for 85-92
2. Console lids that aren't overly expensive
3. Upper center consoles for radio that doesn't cost an arm and a leg
4. Reproduction steering wheels
5. Accurate Aero style wings that aren't made out of gold (not fiberglass)

90-92 Firebird Switch Panel (Above the Radio/Climate Controls), With NO holes cut out for switches (rear derost, Fog Lights etc...)

I have had a couple with both 2 or 3 switch holes, I even saw one or two with only 1, But have never been able to get a hold of a panle with none.

I had the GM Part# at one time, but that was 2 Divorces ago.

GM Discontinued it in 96
