1987 20th anniversary commemerative edition iroc convertible 5 speed restoration ?'s

Hello everyone,
I have been reading a few of the posts on here over the last day or two and you guys seem vary knowledgeable about this subject. But i recently became the owner of a 1987 20th anniversary commemorative edition iroc z convertible 5 speed. The top has damage and needs to be replaced, there is some minor body work that needs done and the color of the thing is FLAMINGO PINK with PINK rims LOL. Anyways does anyone know of a shop that can do a full restoration or the work iv mentioned.

Thanks,
Madison

Also does anyone know the value of the car, i have yet to insure it as i do not know the value.

Re: 1987 20th anniversary commemerative edition iroc convertible 5 speed restoration

I would start by going to local shows. Start asking around with show participants. Be honest... Most should start dropping names, or tell you that one person or another does a nice job, when you feel comfortable about someones reputation I would take it to them and see what they say...

That is a NICE find. should have a TPI engine because of the 5 speed...

Welcome. Can you post where you're from MadisonSatori? Difficult for readers to recommend a shop without knowing what part of the world you're from.

Pink with Pink wheels eh?

Well wherever you decide to take it for paint, make sure you have it towed there so you you don't get seen driving it

Nice find nonetheless, particularly with it being an 87, which I am partial to since that was the only year you could get the early style IROC wheels with a roller engine.

Not sure what's going on currently, but I promise you that the value of a 25 year old, manual transmission convertible is going up.

It's worth restoring, even if you have to pay someone to do it.

No doubt about it, fix what's broken, and restore to original colors, etc.

In the area of emblems and emblem placements, I have a 1987 IROC T-Top, and need help with emblems.

Are there emblems for the front fenders?

Richard.

hey I have one all so from what I have found out some things about it there was only 365 made n 1987 so yes u got a rare car u can run vin # and c what it says about your car they only came n 3 colors that I know of it was red&black & yellow&black & white& black come with aluminum Head and cast iron heads do you need to see which one is yours come with and put in your VIN number and it will tell you how many had aluminum heads and cash on heads the value on one that needs restored starts around 11 5 up to 19 5 hit me back for any information you find out and I will keep you posted to I am on FB under Jeff Nabors. It can't be many of them left out of 365 cars 32 years ago I've had mine since it has 28,000 miles on it they are badass cars I've had cruise control set on mine at 127 miles an hour or a hundred miles probably coming back from Orlando Florida hit me up anytime and let me know

What? You're responding to a 10 year old post and putting out a bunch of hogwash. Where did you get the information that there were only 365 made. That info is incorrect. Also, the Camaro didn't come with aluminum heads, so that is also wrong info. The idea that they came in only 3 colors is also incorrect.

When contributing, please be as accurate as possible because nothing you posted is correct.

Total bs. How long did you have it set on cruise? 2 miles? 10 miles? 100 miles?

That engine have thrown a rod or spun a bearing at that speed if you went a distance over 10 miles.
