Anyone have a "real" IROC??
i was just wondering if anybody on the forum owns an I-ROC that was use in the International Race of Champions??

Don't think they were ever actually "used" in any race - GM purchased the right to use the designation on the cars. Like the "pace cars" - none of them (well, very very few of them) ever actually "paced" a real race anywhere - it's just packaging and stickers.

The Race cars (at least by the time the 1985 IROC came about) were tubular framed cars which were more like a NASCAR race car than anything.
There are pictures on here somewhere if you poke around. I want to think DEI still has one in a museum...
This is in stark contrast to the Firehawk and Players cars which were actual production cars with a roll cage for safety... These cars can be found (Players cars in particular) on occasion you will find them with the full race equipment, more times than not those special parts have been stripped off of them
