Went to my local pick a part yard to get Parts for my T/A and found 3 third gens the sad part is the original owners and pickets before me I found a 1987 firebird coupe 87 ws6 the car looked to be babied and it was sitting in there! I went to get parts after the last guy and he smashed everything right in front of me! All the parts I needed he broke its harsh but true seeing these cars there when they can be easily restored. Anyone else agree?

Dang, that's harsh. It does hurt seeing any third gen left for dead in a scrap yard. Especially when the parts you needed being smashed right in front of you. Have a couple questions for you I sent via pm.

I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like these cars have basically disappeared from all the junkyards these days. Used to be a dime a dozen in all of them. Now when I actually need parts they're all saying how rare it is to see one, and if one comes in it's picked apart almost immediately.

They are going to start becoming harder to find in the Junkyards... In my area, everyone has a ragged out fox. I usually find maybe 2-3 fox body mustangs that are picked clean.

I used to find about 8-9 Camaro and Firebird's... now I am seeing less. These cars are starting to go up in value and more people are saving them.

Well the part I needed was actually there, and I was telling my dad about it, so we walked over, the guy pulling the existing 305 out over heard me saying to my dad Oh! the light motor is in there, so the guy took both light motors and snapped the arms off of it! and cut the wiring then threw it though a windshield of another car. Real dick move.... And exactly my point they are all gone through as soon as they come there, One cool think I did see was a camaro with the dual speedo that was in good condition.

One part I did want that I was going to come back for is the slip folding rear seats they have available they were in great condition!

I tell ya it is hard getting parts for these cars, My car was ruined when I first got it, a bunch of parts where missing and the motor was messed... fun! no oil dipstick, overheating since the electric fan couldn't keep up so I just converted to mech. Fan I need the fan shroud now. Still need to repair the previous owners ******* wiring job, I don't have hazards or reverse lamps..... I do have brakes lights since the owner found a way to bypass the hazard wiring issue..... Some people shouldn't own these cars. Another issue is that the cars are always destroyed by previous owners, then we pick them up love them and make them into something!

If a guy did that to me, I would probably cuss him out and tell the people that worked there so he would have to pay for all the stuff he broke. That is just wrong. I have had people break stuff I need, just to get to a part they need, and that itself sucks. But to have a guy overhear you and break it intentionally is just wrong.

I would have contacted the yard owner about that and tell him what you would have paid. People are jerks.

People are just harsh I don't understand why someone would just do that. I had enough money for the light and the headlight, he destroyed both intentionally then left laughing with his friend.

if you said something to the yard owner or management, those people would get kicked out, and/or made ot pay for what they broke. Yards dont like people doing htat, it loses them money.

they already left before I had a chance to do anything about it. I was protecting the trunk lock cylinder before they got at it, so I waited till they took off.

What D-bags some people are, you should have told the yard workers right away. I was at the Akron pull a part a few summers ago and there were 2 young guys trying to get a passenger mirror of a 92 F150. The door was nice and the dude could not get the mirror to unscrew so they tooks a pry bar and hammer to the door. Alto of people only care about what they want and need.

I have not looked for a 3rd gen at the pull apart yet, but might this Friday as i'm off work.

I went to this Junk yard for the 1st time here in Toledo and there must have been no less than 15 3rd gens, I went looking for parts for my 77 Trans Am and there were 6 2nd gen F-Birds did not even count the Camaros, I got what i needed for it and also walked out with a NoN A/C box for a 3rd gen and rear inside panels for my 2000 T/A, at least 15 or more 4th gens.
I guess it all depends were you are at, I will be going to this place often.
