Original Foglights or Fakes??
Hi Guys, found a real clean pair of fogs on a nice88 Z-28 but they are a bit different from what I've seen on here. Wondering if you could tell me anything about them.
Fog lights usually have the front of the lens slanted in one direction, but these are flat .The light housings have SAE F 85 GUIDE 1F on the back with normal bulb and socket. The lenses look the same otherwise and have SAE F 85 GMIF on the fronts. The brackets are about the same, but a bit longer on the top part and have
87 GUIDE 8M on one side and Made in Taiwan R.O.C GM 16507428 on them.
Sorry, I can't seem to get a pic on this site to download. They seem to have stock pigtails plugged into them and they work great. Rest of the car looked great and original, so it beats me. Anyone know anything about them? Thanks for any insight you may have, Henry

Gee, amazing what a little time on Google turns up. Apparently seem to be from an Astro van and someone cleverly bent the pivot screw mounts around make this fit. Ever heard of this before? Only thing is, the lens ends up upside down from the original design.. OK, definitely not a stock setup, but should it work OK as a cheaper alternative or just a really dumb idea? Thanks again, Henry

The ones used on astro vans are identical to ours other than the flat glass lens. They mount perfectly on camaro brackets with the same hardware.

Thanks, yeah, that's what it looks like. Do you know if they'll work upside down? The lens doesn't seem directional?
