something is worth what you can get someone else to pay you for it. the crossfire set up looks cool but isn't all that desirable but 1000 isn't a bad start if there aren't any major issues

The fun factor you could have with that is mind boggling. How many 83s do you see anymore. You can get that car so cheap that building a motor for it to go drag racing, autocrossing or just a plain weekend cruiser is to cheap to pass up if its in decent shape with no rust or wrecked. There is always many ways to look at something and if you don't have a toy at the moment then opportunity may be knocking.

Yeah the crossfire set up is tricky, but if the car is solid I say go for it-you could always swap in something else and evern keep the crossfire just to have it. Like was said make sure it has floors in it LOL! You should see the junk around here that people want $2500 for.

Ditto, expect problems with parts availability and drivability with the Crossfire...some parts are simply not available for this setup.

Seriously. I figured that your intent was to flip the car. If that's your intention, then spend your time on eBay. This forum is about those that want to fix, repair, rebuild, or restore their car. You don't need to come to an enthusiast site and ask for free advice on how much you can flip the car for!!
