What would you pay?
So I'm new to this forum and I don't know where else to put this. Obviously you have to see the car to make an informed offer but.. I have a 1986 Camaro sport coupe. I bought it close to 8 years ago as a parts car. Well I have got what I needed off of it and it has just been sitting. Body is in good shape for the most part with little to no rust. Was recently at a car show and ran into a guy who is interested in buying it basically for the shell. The car currently has no interior but the engine and trans are still in it. The guy had an awesome '92 that he restored and then some and is looking to do it again. My question is what would be a reasonable price to ask? Or how much would you pay for basically a 1986 shell in good condition?

Hard to say without pics but with the info you gave id say about 700-1100 tops in reference to my area, can be dependent upon the going rates in your area as well

Thank you! Unfortunately I don't have any pics. I was thinking somewhere in the 800- 1000 range.

Thank you for your input. I just didn't want to give it away but I don't want to rip the guy off. The car owes me nothing. I just don't have the time or $$ to do anything with it or space to keep it anymore.

Then yeah it think $800 would be reasonable and you clear up some space, add a couple goodies to your 87 lol

Cool I had no idea what to say for a price so that helps me out a lot. And the 87 has plans for a few more than a "couple" of goodies lol but she needs the usual TLC and some cleaning up first.

I'd say right around $800-$900. I buy parts cars, but the ones I normally get are rusted beyond repair or wrecked- and those I pay anywhere from $350-$1000, depending on the options.
Got pics of the car? I'm looking for a clean body for a project myself!

Re: What would you pay?
Yup I've had it for 8 years. I bought it as a parts car to build my '87. I wish I could bring it back to life but time and money are not on my side. I have someone coming by Wednesday possibly to take a look at it. Wow it does look the same. I hated that color at first but I think I might like it now. It definitely stands out.

I'd think somewhere around $400-500 would be a good price for you.
