Service parts list has A90 but not on car!

Service parts list has A90 but not on car!
Just bought my 3rd IROC Z...an '89 with the
5.7, G92, etc. Car has the group 3 options including the A90 Power Hatch Release. A90 is on the Service Parts List in the console glove box but there is no switch on the console. The console has the power window switches and that's it! Has anybody heard of a similar situation? Don't have the original window sticker but suspect it would have been listed as an option. Somebody probably swapped out the console at some point over the last 27 yrs or so.

Does the VIN on the SPId match the VIN of your car ?

The switch may be under the console top??If someone replaced the console and didn't cut the hole.. and like Solar said, check the VIN on the dash to the IN in the center console

Thanks....yes the vins match! I guess I am wondering when the console was replaced why they did not get a console with the switch cut out. Anyway thanks for the advice. BobC

But you probably already knew all that...
Not hard to cut the hole and install a switch. Find the wiring up under there first.

What I was hoping for was that the factory ran out of the 3 hole console tops, built the cars with the 2 holers with the dealer correcting it later when the parts became available. Yes, wishful thinking I know! BobC

What good would that do?Oh and of course, don't forget to make sure the trunk popper assy is there; but I'd bet it is, this being mass production and all that, with the documentation calling for it and all.

It all started with my ordering a new 1985 7 28 IROC Z from a dealer in Phoenix. It finally arrived with a fixed mast antenna instead of the power antenna. The dealer then added an after market power antenna. I don't remember if the Service Parts List had the power antenna code as I had no idea what that list was at that time. Yes the trunk popper works (reluctantly) as my hatch is misaligned.
