The LG4 part slipped by me, but it seems so many nice cars are near you.

lot of nice cars in the northeast for sure .. i rarely see any good original third gens in the south or west coast , most are beat pretty bad ... this car for 9,000 grand is not bad but there are better buys out there in my opinion ..

Yeah, I do notice that that most nice, low milers are coming are coming out of the midwest "rust belt" as well.

But for the toy thirdgens that are a garage-dwelling 2nd or 3rd car? It's a different story.
I'd say of the 52 weekends a year out here in CA, I've had perfect driving weather for at least 40+ with multiple great roads to enjoy nearby (as well as race tracks and autocross venues). In the rust belt and the northeast, you might get 15 good driving weekends a year when you account for winters and rain. Add in the fact that (personal experience) there aren't as many good driving roads in those areas and you have the perfect incubator for low-mile survivors. I've had my Camaro all over the country, but I have done the most driving (and have put the highest quality fun miles on it) in California.
Think about your beautiful rides there in Illinois - how many weekends a year are you comfortable taking them out for a spin when accounting for rain and snow? How good and long are the available driving routes? And in your case, divide those miles across a few collector toys...

Re: Another '85. Seems like a nice car for a fair price for a change.
Counter-intuitive reason behind this - weather. The daily driver thirdgens rot away very fast in the rust belt and northeast. In the southwest and west coast, the daily drivers are beat into the ground. Their sad lives are prolonged by better weather, but they ultimately suffer a similar (though less rusty) fate.

Jesus. You guys have gotta stop this. I clicked that Facebook marketplace link, and this gem just down the road popped up in the related listings. Sellers says it's a "RARE 92 GTA, 1 of 226", well I'll just quote the text.
I bought this 1992 firebird transam GTA as a project car. There where only 226 of these made in 1992 and not very many left on the road today. It is a 5 speed manual with T-Tops, has the original 5.7L fuel injected L98 v8 and the original GTA rims. This car run and drives right now and is very fast. I have a temp plate on it good I til 5/5/2020.

I clicked two more links and found this gem in Missouri. This is why I stopped browsing Craigslist, Facebook, and Ebay for thirdgens. It's offensive to my sensibilities.
I guess this one isn't as bad as the Firebird with a Camaro front end that was on Craigslist the last time I stopped looking.

This car has a story. Somewhere someone thought of and executed all of these custom changes. Owned it for a while. Drove it around. Maybe it changed hands a few times. And now....it's in a dealer's showroom.

The owner of that sweet sweet ride would never part ways with their collection of bitchin tunes. The only reasonable explanation is that it's on consignment, or rather on display to spread joy and love in these hard times. Or perhaps the owner has moved onto to better heights, like a custom Pontiac Aztek with a Zune. Or maybe the Kung Flu took the owner operator from us too soon, and only this masterpiece remains.

Can you imagine the chattering sounds all those jewel cases make with every bump you hit?

That has to be the only Camaro on the planet with a sun visor on the windshield lol. And WTF is a VOCALIZER?? It's on the left side of the radio.
I'd about bet that was some WORLD OF WHEELS type of show car from 1991.

"Hey man, sorry to hear about the Formula. You're in luck, you know, I got that old red Trans Am out there on the other farm that's wrecked in the back. The hood won't stay up on it though, never did. We tore down grandma's old fence the other day and I saved some of them good posts. You could prolly use one to keep the hood up. It be good and sturdy!"

Just a guess, it's probably an idiotic add on for the PA system or CB for playing dipshit music like the first few notes of dixie, or the Tarzan yell, or something equally as dipshitty.

It’s awesome when you are reading a thread and get steered towards another thread that you have also already ready and find a whooooooole new subject matter to feast upon 😂
