84' Notchback Trans Am Center Console

The Center Console is the 82-84 Firebird/Trans Am design, but this came out of an 84' Notchback Trans Am. The Console is mint, and I have found no cracks or imperfections anywhere. It also has the rare knee pads on the sides, and they are also in mint condition. The car this came out of was in storage for 15 years, so it never really did get much use. The Console is complete with the 5 Spd Shifter Plate and Console Lid. Even the Shifter Boot is still there. The car it came out of also had power windows so the buttons are there, but it would be an easy swap if your car doesnt have power windows.

I have pics but I have not uploaded them yet. As soon as someone expresses interest thatll give me motivation to upload the pics lol.

Not many people can say they have a Center Console out of a Notchback Trans Am, but you can be one of the very few. Id like to get $225 obo + Shipping, but make offers on it. Im in no hurry to sell it, but if the offer is enough it could be yours.

Re: 84' Notchback Trans Am Center Console

You sure about the year?

Notchbacks were an 88 model year only option

https://www.thirdgen.org/1988-pontiac-firebird

If its something I can use, I am interested. 82-84 were basically the same as the camaro consoles IIRC.

Re: 84' Notchback Trans Am Center Console

Yup you are right. It is an 84' like I thought, but it must have been an aftermarket hatch or a factory hatch that was installed in 88' or later.

There is a pic of the car to show I wasnt making anything up to try to sell the console for more than what its worth.

I finally uploaded the pics so I can post them up. Ive found a few minor imperfections on the console, but Ill lower my price to $150 + Shipping.

Re: 84' Notchback Trans Am Center Console

Yep, thats definitely an aftermarket hatch

btw, that console will only work in the 82-85/6 cars. They switch styles to the separate radio pod in 87 IIRC

Good luck iwth the sale

Alright cool, would you know who the manufacturer of the hatch is? Just curious I guess. Even if its an aftermarket hatch Im not disappointed, they too are really expensive and I got a really good deal on the whole car.

Yup I said the console is for 82-84 cars. In 85 they switched to the radio pod being separate from the console. Or atleast thats how it is in the Trans Ams seeing as I have an 85' and an 86', and this parts car was an 84'.

Thanks, if it doesnt sell on here within a few days Ill post it up on Ebay.

Why will this console only work in earlier model cars and not the later ones? What was changed? Looks like it bolts to the dash just like the seperate radio pod does.

Re: 84' Notchback Trans Am Center Console

It will work in the later models, but you would need to remove your radio pod, because the radio pod is part on the center console for the 82-84's. If you are interested in it I have listed it on Ebay starting out at $9.99 with no reserve, and a Buy It Now of $89.99. Just search 82-84 Firebird / Trans Am Center Console.
