NOS Steering Wheel
Hi,
In anticipation of someday restoring my '87 IROC, I purchased a number of parts from the dealership before they were no longer available. I knew that the steering wheel would "wear out" one day and not be available any longer. So, some time in the early '90's, I purchased a brand new GM steering wheel for my car. I never installed it. It's still in the GM box and is still wrapped in factory plastic. It's been stored in the house (climate controlled) this whole time. It's absolutely pristine.
I see that Hawk's will now restore these wheels to the tune of about $414. I don't remember what I paid for mine, but I think it was at least $250.
I no longer have the car, but I want to see this wheel to go to a good home. There's no point in my hanging onto it any more, as I don't foresee building another one (though the idea does cross my mind from time to time). Anyone wanting to do a top notch restoration needs this wheel.
I like to think that a pristine original GM wheel is worth more than a restored wheel, but I'll consider any reasonable offers.

Re: NOS Steering Wheel
I do believe you are supposed to post an asking price. Also, I think you were correct about your original purchase price, as they were somewhere in that range. But as time went on, I think the price ended up around the $400 range before they were all gone.

Re: NOS Steering Wheel
I posted this almost on a whim. I hadn't visited Thirdgen for a LONG time...
But, I do need to let go of the wheel (so to speak ). And I obviously need to post pictures. I'll take care of that shortly.
Thanks.

Re: NOS Steering Wheel
I thought I had a buyer, but he disappeared. So, it's still for sale.

Re: NOS Steering Wheel
My new post apparently prompted the original buyer into action, because he sent me the money. The wheel has been sold and shipped.
Thanks for your interest.

I'm sick as a dog .. I wanted this wheel so bad. I hope buyer uses it and it doesn't sit on a shelf or get sold 10 times
