tach problems in 1989 IROC-Z

My tach in my 89 IROC does not work right. When I start the car it pegs out and the just kinda bounces around. What can I do to fix this problem? It is a 115 mph cluster.

I had the same problems on mine and found a replacement tach is more reliable and easy to install. I posted a thread on it a few years ago... here's the link and I hope it helps.

Good Luck!
