dash cover differences?
Hello!!!
I was wondering what the difference is between the dash covers in the early thirdgens was. I heard they changed the dash cover in 84, and that the later models have a different style to them. The reason I am asking is because I am thinking about replacing mine(it has cracks)and I can source a clean non cracked dash cover from an 87. I can't tell the difference, so maybe somone here has the answer. Will it fit? will it not? Will it look out of place? Either way let me know. Cheers!!

Re: dash cover differences?
Well i took a dash cover out of an 84 and it fit in with zero problems into my 89. I think the only difference is the speaker cut outs. Nothing noticeable though, the slots or grille are the same except were they are actually cut out under the slots. Sorry if i confused you but i know there will be NO fitment issues with the camaro dash cover.

Cutouts for speakers? What do you mean? Mine has the vertical bars(I think), so I would assume the later model ones have actual grilles?

Re: dash cover differences?
Sorry for the confusion, they all have vertical bars. What im trying to say is the spots cut out inbetween the vertical bars are different. not the bars themselves. Heres a pic http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Camar...mZ160281468483
If you look at it you can see were you can look through the speaker holes and the only differnce in years will be the shape of the slots that are cut out, not the vertical bars themselves.
Here is the other style http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/82-92...mZ130253057923
this style the whole area is cut out.

Re: dash cover differences?
The edge facing the driver is square on the 82 and 83 models for sure. I do not know which style the 84 uses. Later models have a more tapered, rounded edge facing the driver. They all interchange across the model run. Thanks, Oldtimer.
