WIRING HELP

I have had my 92 for about a year I bought it from a young kid that was trying and I STRESS TRYING to get rid of the TBI on his junk knocking 305. I have installed a new 350 with MSD ignition and a holley 650,I got to drive it about 150 miles since the 700 is JUNK. I took the motor back out and doing a rebuilt T5 swap as we speak. I will be starting on rebuilding the rear end this month keeping the 4.10's and adding a new trutrac. The a/c housing was destroyed and wires melted together so I purchased a non a/c heater box. When removing the interior I have found that the wiring in the car is F*&CKED way way way beyond repair. Everything like lighting, windows door locks work but the guages dont. I went with a T5 that was cable driven due to the harness for the vss had drug the ground was gone and the wiring was ripped from the 4 prong connector in the trans. Most of the wiring to the senders was cut off and tucked into the pastic wiring loom. I am needing the assiatance of someone who is really good with the dash wiring on these cars. My only hope is to take the original cluster and throw it away and start from scratch on an all mechanical custom gauage panel

Re: WIRING HELP

Why not go grab a full replacement dash harness from a yard car? Its pretty much plug and play , no messing around.

Re: WIRING HELP

The whole instrument panel is smoked also. You can see the curcuit board in the dash is gone so I would have to replace it also. I have searched 9 different bone yards here for parts and all I find is empty wrecked shells. I really have no need for an ECM either. I can not tell you it is even any good. I never heard the car run.

Re: WIRING HELP

Here that stuff is cheap and plentiful. You could also just try and find a harness from a older carbed thirdgen. Rather the n trying to fix a fried harness it would be less trouble to keep looking for a complete replacement

Ebay as well

Re: WIRING HELP

yeah I could do that pretty easy, my other thought was just trying to figure how to clean it all out and do an all autometer mechanica system. I have the correct speedo cable for our cars(brand new) and a new autometer 3997 mechanical speedometer. and I have already installed a nice Autometer tach.
