Seat mounts
well i was pulling the interior i was havign trouble getting the bolts out of the seat mounts. it turns out to be extremely rusted and i ripped out one of the studs. another is barely hanging in there and i wouldnt trust the seat with just 2 bolts.
now my question is where would i get a replacement piece? i need to replace the drivers side and i wa slooking at classic industries and they have the whoel floor board but it doesnt look like it has those bracket/mounts.

Re: Seat mounts
The only place I know of to get that part is out of another thirdgen. I don't think they are being sold by any of the aftermarket vendors. Is is just the bolt that is rusted, or is it the metal channel that it sits in as well?

Re: Seat mounts
mime did the same thing, they are known for rotting out there. i was going with after market seats so i made custom brakets. you could cut out the rusty section put new metal down in its place, then weld a new stud in. thats what i would do anyways.

Re: Seat mounts
Are there any holes in the floors underneath those brackets? If you have T-tops I would check them for leaks. They are well-known for that. I could see that spot rusting out if the car has been driven in snow a lot also.
