Seat Question
Are the front seats supposed to latch so the backrests don't fold forward? Mine just fold forward without pulling any sort of release or trigger, I just pulled them out this weekend and noticed a plastic **** on the bottom which looks like a release for the backrest. I'm wondering if mine are broke or if thats just the way they are.

Re: Seat Question
They have an inertial lock, sort of like the shoulder belt. The latch is to unlock them when you might be parked on a hill.

Re: Seat Question
i bet they are full of lint and dust..
you can work on them inside the car or take them out..
there is a latch that pops down to Keep them from folding forward..
(all the way) they will go forward..but just a tad... lift the latch and they fold all the way... if it's just flopping. then the latch is not resetting..
try some WD40 (lighty) and hold the seat upside down.. moving the seat back..back and forth. at the same time working the latch.. worked for us on a buddys car.
2 months ago i took the seats out of my 92 camaro (still like new)
and had them upside down in the house.(to remove sliders). and the seat mech.. started sticking.(not locking the seat back). just from having the seats upside down.. so i dont think it's a spring thing.. or broke.. was working fine when done..
bagged and put away..I installed aftermarket seats.

Re: Seat Question
I'll have to try that, I've got them out of the car now. Is the mechanism visible if the seat cover was taken off? I was planning on recovering the seats anyway, the covers are perfect except for a line where the seatbelts ran down the side of the seat and it looks like the seatbelt rubbed through the thinner side bolster material I'm guessing the previous owner never wore seatbelts..
