Archimedes T-tops
Has anyone seen the Mythbusters where they try to make the Archimedes death ray out of a bunch of mirrors to reflect the sun into a single spot? Well it didn't work out too well for them, but my '92 got some of it the other day. I can't get my hatch open right now, go figure, so I had to lay the t-tops in the back seat. Well the other morning I get into my car to go to work and the first thing that I notice is something black and stringy on my passenger side visor. On closer inspection it was BURNT!!! I said who came along here and burned someones sun visor and what is the point of that??? Then I noticed a quarter sized spot of light at the end of the burn hole. So I put my hand in front of it and followed it all the way back to the t-top laying in the back seat! Well then I was like how did it burn in such a wierd shape? The sun spot is round. I soon realised that as the sun moved, so did the death ray and it made a burn trail across the visor.
