200 for a stock t/top headlinerworth it?

Hi all, i have been searching for a t-top headliner used to no avail, the other day i found one thats my color mint with the t/top covers, center roof consule and speaker covers for $200, is this a good price or is it too high for a 23 year old headliner? thanks in advance...

Well your going to spend $200 plus shipping on a new one, headliner only,so that's not a bad price for what all your getting,I'm thinking you are calling the sun shades T Top covers, their $60.00,plus a roof console I don't know what their worth.plus sail panels,If you say their mint then buy them.

But, you will be buying 23 year old foam backer. I would pop for the abs kind. You will save $ in the long run.

I agree,That's what I did,but he said it is in mint condition.I spent $199.00 + shipping for a ABS type alone.

Personally I would buy a new ABS. GM should have made them ABS from the beginning. The cardboard and foam you are buying is still 23 yrs old and will rip and crack eventually. Its just not designed to last.

the only thing i'd be concerned about is the foam disintegrating (like others have mentioned). it breaks down over time and ends up sagging. Some opt for the new abs ones while others scrape the old one and recover them. I'm going to be redoing mine, but will be reinforcing it with some fiberglass too (since the fiberboard can fall apart if it gets wet).

Yeah, but you also have a hardtop that doesn't generally leak like the t-tops do... And the t-top liner is more than likely more expensive to have recovered due to the labor and time to get done properly in the corners.

Second, there are posts on here that the ABS headliners generally don't fit right.

Personally, since I'm probably going to end up doing fiberglass work anyways, I think I'd rather learn to make my own fiberglass backer and not worry about that cheap POS fiberboard backer falling apart again (mostly because I no longer have my backer as I tossed it due to this). Then I'll either cover it or have it covered professionally (going to miss those leopard print buttons, though).

Re: 200 for a stock t/top headlinerworth it?

i went to michaels and bought material called black headliner... cost me like 20 dollars to recover my T-top headliner its pretty easy to do. if you want it to last longer put some fiberglass resin around the corners or just coat/cover it in fiberglass before you recover the thing in headliner. costs you alot less if you do things your self.
