Hatch motor relay click but not doing down?

OK, I bought the hatch motor pulldown rebuild kit from Hawks and even went as far as replacing the relay however. the motor will go up but when I push the latch sensing switch so it will go down nothing happens. The relay clicks but doesnt go down. I also noticed the motor is hot after a few minutes. What am I doing wrong here?????? Please someone help me out!!!!

Re: Hatch motor relay click but not doing down?

if the motor is getting hot it is trying to move but is unable to. is something jamming the gears? or maybe the motor has a dead spot and just doesn`t have the abillity to turn...kinda like when a starter starts to die
just a thought

Can you take a look at your locking mechanism on the side that goes toward the rear. There is a wiring harness with three wires; black, orange and white. Can you tell me what order they're in from left to right? Thanks!!!!!!

Re: Hatch motor relay click but not doing down?

black is on the right side (pass side) looking down
orange is next to the black
and the white is on the left of the orange
i also have a blue wire on the far left (driver side) not sure if it is for the power locks or not but i have taken some pics of all the wiring around the pulldown motor but they are not uploading but if you send me your e-mail i can send them that way .... hopefully
mike

sorry i went right to left

Re: Hatch motor relay click but not doing down?

Your suggestion did help. I tried to solder the wires in place with marginal success. I got it to work but I'll probably have to end up buying a new wiring harness. Thanks again for your help!
