2004 gto seats in my iroc :) perfect swap
i recently bought a parts car that had gto seats in it..and ive been dying to put 4th gen leather seats in my iroc...but these gto seats with 3rd gen brackets set off this car like no other...i also have a 1995 camaro centerconsole and 4th gen rear leather seats the whole setup looks great its a tighter fit but looks amazing..

Re: 2004 gto seats in my iroc :) perfect swap
they are extremelly comfy and i didnt want to use leather unless i had ac...so its a win win...the only thing is they dont recline backwards like original camaro seats but they have lumbar support etc and as far as fitting in the line up...itll catch on sooner or later

The seats look pretty good.
The whole "GTO" thing doesn't really bother me. Not really any different than seeing "CORBEAU" or "SPARCO" written across a seat. What would bother me a bit are the dangling seat belts.

Those seats look amazing!
Just Wondering, how hard was it to swap in the '95 center console? I'm thinking of doing that myself, along with 4th gen front and rear seats.

Wow nice man, this is definately inspiring. I've got a set of these that are ready to go into my 91, but my car's in pieces atm so I'll just have to wait.

Re: 2004 gto seats in my iroc :) perfect swap
ill try and get some more close up pix of the centerconsole but i cut a stock one off right where the ashtray would be so i could still mount it up against the dash and the the 95 i basically slid under that and it all fell into place...doesnt fit perfect but it still looks good and guys on the gto logo....i could i guess remove the stitching but then there would still be holes or a trace of where it said gto so why bother...it just shows everyone they arnt stock seats....i just wish they reclined backward like stock seats

Re: 2004 gto seats in my iroc :) perfect swap
no...im 5'5 and they are perfect for me...they do sit eh slighly higher and are a little wider than stock seats for sure...so if your not super tall your fine...and the only negative i have about them is because of the tight fit against the centerconsole and door(when closed) they do not slide very easy...when doors open they slide better and also you do lose the factory option of reclining the seats as the only fold down they do not fold back...they do have lumbar support and pouches on the rear of each seat so that makes it nice for tidy ing up the back...i think some leg room is lost as well..as these are larger than stock seats once again...

i had parted a 95 z28...and had the first centerconsole laying around to mess with but the shifter plate popped out everytime you move the shifter...so i then parted a 98 camaro and it had that centerconsole which also has 4 cupholders i like it alot more...i have an auto but its fun to mess with people as far as the manual console i didnt modify it at all...but the upper stock console around radio and heater controls has been very cut up so the other console would slide under it

Re: 2004 gto seats in my iroc :) perfect swap
to make it clear to everyone i did not cut the 4th gen center console piece at all i simply made all the cuts to the 3rd gen well whats left of its original centerconsole.....you have to cut the bar out right up past where the ashtray is (or would be) on a stock 3rd gen console and then slide the 4th gen under that ...basically do it however you need to theres no right or wrong way to do it...im thinking about adding the original grey carpet to the sides of this concept console to bring it all together like it originally was
i did cut right under the radio the only part really holding that section together is the radio and heater controls lol....and yes 4th gen rear seats fit perfectly..

trust me, ive been there, we had a 99 T/A LS1/A4 come in, not crashed, recovered theft, one scuff on the front bumper, 70K miles, we stripped it and 5 months later it was crushed, it was a perfect running and driving car, teal colored with tan leather.

Great look!!, Did you have any trouble with parking brake? And do you think there is enough room to fit the window & hatch switches, I noticed you have roll-ups.

Re: 2004 gto seats in my iroc :) perfect swap
All of the console swaps from 4th gens have been documented on here a long time ago. There's walk throughs for pretty much every console and mod you need to do to fit it. I personally have a 98+ console in my 91 trans am. It fit just fine with my 6 speed swap. Only problem will be the power accessory switches and figuring out where to put all of them. The window switches will fit in the ash tray but I have power mirrors too..

well everyone i found said to take a firebird/trans am upper console piece where the radio and heater controls are and adfapt that to whatever 6 speed console you choose....i still think it looks out of place...so thats why i used a standard camaro console that i cut to fit a 6 speed

yeah ive been trying to figure out how im going to do that, thought of moving the cd player into the console itself, but then i have a huge gap there...burn that bridge when i get to that step i guess...

The solution for Camaros, is to get a Firebird AC/Radio pod. Then the 4th gen consoles are a natural fit with no cutting of the stock console needed.

seats look great but i'm also gonna comment on the "GTO" thing. no, it's not the same as "Recaro" and "Corbeau". those are manufacturer names...GTO is a model name. not the same. the seats look freakin AWESOME in there, but you need to get rid of the GTO on them...

if i were to removed the gto...then i would just have a hole where the stiching was....personallh it doesnt bother me...its like having vette wheels...with vette centercaps on a camaro...and blackenbird...with regards to the upper piece...thats why i said everyone was doing that i wanted a factory look around the radio and heater controls

you can search this out but just so you know, pretty much everything from the doors down from a 4th gen will fit a 3rd gen, door panels require some heat and molding to fit but has been done, carpet fits as ive put a couple in my third gens but the seat belt holes are misaligned in the back but can be covered by the floor mats(they are also 2 inches wider which makes it nice since you can trim it to fit tightly), obviously we know seats fit, dash fits, 98+ consoles fit great, better than the LT1's, belts all fit.

im pretty sure a good upholstery shop could get rid of the "GTO" script and make it look like it was never there...but if it doesn't bother you Then rock on! seats look great!

Well, I have a Firebird not a Camaro, so I've never had to do it myself. But in everything I have read or seen was that it was basically a direct swap. What/where didn't it fit?

on the drivers side the camaro dash where the cigerette lighter and fog light switch is sticks out farther than the firebird dash i guess...im gonna cut a lil off the side of the pod and try to make it fit in behind the dash bezel.
......I got it to fit...had to remove the vents from the back of the firebird pod, Thanks again.
