looking at the pics on ebay, each lay has a tab and wire. the tab extends over the edge of the guage, the guage edge curves up so you want to grind that edge down with the dremel so the tab exits flat out the face.

place 2 sided tape onto the guage face then slide the lay over the needle CAREFULLLLLLLLY and press down onto the face. needle goes through hole obviosly. I had a t10 bulb that was burnt and soldered leads onto it then shaved the solder down and hijacked one of the stock bulb placements so they turn on normally with the headlight switch. verify pos+ with test light. You can also remove the green pieces for the turn signal bulbs and replace the bulbs with any color t10 led you want. get a t10 5050 if you want it bright or a t10 3528 for standard brightnes.

ahhhhh now I'm getting it, i didn't think the tabs would be a big problem, figured they'd be thin and you could just fold em out of the way, and i figured you'd slide the overlay over the needle, just thought for a minute that it would be too thick, or might tear, never had my speedo apart so i don't know how tightly the needle is against the gauge

I too had to modify the gauge dish. I actually used some super 77 spray adhesive and molded the overlay in with the help of my heat gun. Mine were the same and were selectable from green to blue. I thought he blue looked better. There is this ugly bulky intensity **** / on off switch. I desoldered it, made it permenantly blue and hard wired it to the illumination circuit (brown at switch).

I asked the store owner if they had red. His response was that they were in research and development lol.

It's nothing a grinder or Dremel can't take care of in 30 seconds. At no point was i worried about these tearing or being damaged. You'll also want to remove all of the 194 bulbs aside from the turn signals while its apart.

and you can pull all the guages out so its easier to grind em except the speedo, do it in the dash. and there is the two little flat head screws on the speedo face that you will need to remove so they can go back in over the lay. i dond know if all the lays are like mine but when i slid the needle through the holes i had to pop the circle base of them through each lay, very tight clearance. dont be discouraged, the blue/white/red and indiglow lays are a nice upgrade from stock.
when i had led swap first they were not so bright and tended to flicker sometimes with vibration( its my vol ***** fault, when i can get 1/2" window flex)

This is a 2012 Camaro SS Hurst Shifter **** attached to a Hurst Billet Plus shifter. I have a few more things in the works like a black face radio with red lighting and redo the door panels with red stitching.

It is el cheepo ebay JDM steering wheel with a custon horn button. I used a 2nd gen horn button logo to replace the crappy jdm logo. Perfect fit. None of the aftermarket wheel companies make a bird logo. They all make a Pontiac arrow button but not this so, i made my own.

While planning my T56 swap i had visualized this setup but not being artistic i wasn't sure how it would turn out. Some people said it would look like @$$. Well i myself am overwhelmed how nice it came out and how comfortable it is. I got the Hurst ****/boot from gen5diy.com This is a GM Hurst product so it will NOT fit on a Hurst stick. The stick is 5.5" tall and the **** snaps onto it. The mounting holes on the stick, DO match up to Hurst shifters. The boot is integrated to the ****. The boot mounting ring on the bottom is made of plastic and easy to seperate so as to pull the boot out of it. I pulled the boot over my existing console shifter boot mounting ring. It was a tight fit. Make sure to get the stick if you plan to use this ****/boot.

This is what i did (Deleted the lower vents and wrapped the lower center in leather. On the top i made my own radio plate with smooth step downs to brake it up the rough look and to keep it looking factory. I completely removed the HAVC controls and put the radio in place of the HAVC controls, but that's not all i mounted the radio completely flush with the step down plate, made a space big enough to a accommodate a CD's and also added a 12volt power source left of the holder)

Yeah, I have one.
I've always wanted to have some sort of smooth illumination in my car. Something unique that compliments the interior.
Here's what I came up with. The pics don't really show the color right. It's really a nice orange/red light that fits the stock color of the button illumination very well.









Color-wise this one shows it quite well.

Nope, not LEDs. Those are electroluminescent wires. They create a much warmer form of light than LEDs. Also, it doesn't give you any spots, or something. Just one smooth glow. Plus, they aren't as bright as LEDs, so it doesn't disturb you when driving at night.

Another thing I was worried about was reflection in the windows. But as it turns out, the reflections you get when installing the wires like I did are on the far top of the windshield. They don't get in the way at all.

They are not hidden. I don't have any daytime pics but if I don't forget I will take some tomorrow.
The wires in the armrest blend in very nicely. I'm not happy with the one in the dash, though. I'm currently working on a solution and I'll be sure to post results once I'm done with that.



If you're thinking about doing this, keep in mind that you will essentially be destroying your dash pad and armrests. So you should probably buy replacement parts for those in case you want to go back to stock.
