Custom sail Panels

I didn't like the old covering they had on my 1989 Trans Am. So I recovered them in vinyl and use indoor/outdoor carpet tape to hold it down. The ring is just the black door trim stuff. They speakers, I found on Ebay, the kids love them because when the base is up the eye light up.
anyone else done custom ones?

Re: Custom sail Panels

I'm not a huge fan of the skull speaker showing through, but looks like you did a great job with putting it together. Out of the box, and better than just screwing your speaker to the panel.

Re: Custom sail Panels

These are HEAVY (large magnet) deep "6x9"s two way Pioneers with water proof backing and there not just "screwed to the panel".
Those mounting holes came with the speakers. And that goes for the door speakers also. Rubber grommets and steel clips.

I don't remember the exact specs any more because they were installed years ago when I first picked up this car.It was striped of most interior pieces, including sails, door skins, kick panels, head panel also done in vinyl. They were gifts so I gave them a try and am glad I did..it was my first speaker mod. and the only way I could get it to fit securely.

The door panel was next. Those and a Kenwood Deck and it sounds amazing.Anyway I worked mainly on the engine then the exterior and now its time to replace the carpet, some of the plastics,etc.,etc.
