instrument cluster question

instrument cluster question

I just got done replacing the cluster in my 84' and was wondering what causes the gas gauge to bounce around? It did not do this with the old cluster?

possible the ground is lose cross your fingers its not the sending unit they can be pricey

my gas gauge is pinned past F im about to drop my tank and check the ground tomorrow
