1984 Camaro C4 Corvette seats install
Has anyone installed the C4 Corvette seats into their Camaro? My dad has an 84 vette and I really like the feel of the C4 seats and want them in my Camaro. I found a set of black leather C4 seats. Where should I start?

Since you are lucky enough to have the seats with you, unbolt one of his and drop into your car. If they don't fit, you can still do a differences measurement of the Camaro and the Corvette and then research some fabrication from there.

I can tell you: that's not going to happen. He's that stereotypical corvette owner...

I honestly don't like the look of those seats. Just my opinion.

The ones I'm getting are not that...lumpy, if you will. They're more smooth-looking. instead of all those individual panels, it's like 2 on the top and two on the bottom...if that makes sense.

Ok, cool to know that they will fit! But the question is: HOW??? Will it take extensive mods/fabrication to actually make them fit? I am in the process of swapping my entire interior and was also looking after some Vette's seats since they are more "race oriented" compared to our OE seats. Yesterday I sat in my friend's 2014 Shelby with the Recaro seats, and the C4 seats tend to look like them.

Re: 1984 Camaro C4 Corvette seats install
Basically there are 3 different styles of C4 sport seats.
1984-88 were very plain compared to later styles. Not available in leather until 1985. 1987-88 models had electric lumber controls mounted on the sides of the lower bolsters
1989-93 had the multiple back bolsters like in the white Camaro above. Skinny people like myself usually love these seats as they are by far the most supportive, while heavier people usually hate them as they find them too confining
1994-96 were much flatter than earlier models, and are usually the favorite of heavier people. This is also the only C4 sport seat that has individually inflatable and deflatable lumbar sections. All earlier models made you inflate all sections at the same time, then deflate certain sections to get it where you want
Keep in mind that sport seats were always optional, and were usually found in less than half of the cars produced for a given model year. Also, most of them now have leaky air bladders, or simply won't inflate at all, so finding a 100% working pair is somewhat uncommon.

Just to add a couple more visuals.... Here's a picture of the "Standard" (non-Sport) seats that were in my '86 Corvette. And yes, that's a rip in the seat back.
Here's a shot with bottom cushion removed (it just lifts out IIRC).
And here's the OE seat riser bracket. The motors are the drivers slide, tilt, and lift. The passenger only gets a manual slide. Oh/and those little black brackets I made to adapt the A4s to the stock sliders.
Standard seats again after they were re-skinned with "leatherette"
What they were replaced with: Corbeau A4 (make sure to get the reduced height version).

I like those corbeau seats. I'll have to look into them as well.
