I'm not sure about Firebirds, but with the Camaro it takes a lot of work.
You have to replace the entire dash with one that has the digital cluster, and also all the sending units I believe (I could be wrong on that part).
I believe the wiring on the older dash might not line up in the harness the same as your 92, so you may need to repin some of the wires around to match up. So you'll need a tech schematic of both the 92, and whatever year the dash is from.

You'd have to get ALL the wiring from a digital dash car, interior and engine side body, the washer sensor, plus the dash and the kick panels unless you plan on re-pinning all the switches that are year specific to the old wiring.
Honestly, if you're asking this question you probably don't have the skills to do the conversion. You'd be better off just going to an aftermarket cluster.

I would not attempt this unless I had a COMPLETE FUNCTIONING digital dash donor car. Piecing it together would lie somewhere in between impossible and cost-prohibitive. You will need several sensors that are specific, a special washer bottle, the lighting wiring is different throughout the car, and I forget what else. Also the entire dash "frame", not just the cluster is specific to digital dash cars. For the whole thing to work, it's a very involved procedure. You will need complete wiring diagrams from your car and from the car of the donor. As much as I love digital dash, I would say don't bother.
